I'm not sure that 'I saw it in the Daily Mail' would be a valid defence in court...

Valid defence in court for what?

I am sure Some would disagree with those figures, If I recall someone had 3 points for 67 MPH in a 60, and another at 79 MPH in a 70 I think, just comes down to it all on the day.

Though someone I know just got another Section 59 :( for going a hell of a lot quicker than any of those figures quoted. Then Said Officer was pleased to tell me "you wanna get one of these new S3's lot quicker than yours". :furious:

Oh on a side note beware new S3 plain clothes touring around East Sussex.

Although each force has its own guidelines such as "10%+2mph" I believe they are just that, guidelines. The way I understand it is the only leeway they have to give you is the 10% so yes, it probably does depends on the day, moon cycles & whether the copper "Got some" the night before ;)

These are meant to be guidelines that all the forces are signing up too. In the idea it will prevent Kent having a different ruling from Sussex or London etc meaning it should be the same everywhere. BUT not every force has signed up to it so it could be still very different once you cross the boarder

well 100 have so far the rest will follow at some point.

What should be pointed out is that the very left hand column is now the minimum speed people can travel at in those zones so to all those fuckwits on the A21 this morning travelling at 45mph :finger::finger::finger:

I as on a speeding course on Wednesday and they recon this is rubbish. Speed cameras are set at different levels depending on where they are. Rural Camera's in Sussex are set at 10% + 9, urban 1o% + 7, and sensitive areas like near schools 10% + 5. Sussex is much more lenient than Kent. I was bloomin lucky as I scrapped in on the 10% + 9. :D

Ditto to that but not only 'speeding tickets'...I earned 3 parking tickets in 5 days the other week where none in 15 years!

Last night heard of a mobile camera the one in Eridge (A26) ofen see the van there on the left going south were issuing tickets for 45MPH in a 40MPH. Got to say that is pretty poor and pure money collecting to get people to school, I wonder if you all ready been to school once, and then you get 3 points at 45 in a 40?

I believe you can only go to Naughty Speed school once every 3 years otherwise it's points!. I think all cameras on the M25 are now active not just the new ones on the Clackets sections...I've seen them flash enough times!

Trouble is I have seen the cameras flash but always wondered if those flashed actually got done or whether it is all random. I went to Bristol this week with my md who drove. Unless caught in traffic he did not go below 80 and nothing! The spot before the tunnel I have done 70 all the way before and nothing therefore leading me to believe it must be a random selection. To be honest since picking up a ticket the other month I have been really watching my speed but obviously missed the change to 50 or was just a bit complacent! Oh well two in three months that will teach me to drive even slower!

I`m not sure if its correct, but I was led to believe that even if your within the tolerance allowance, the cameras will still flash at 1mph over the posted speed limit as a warning even though the NIP may not be issued.
