The NHS blood line people in Northern Ireland rang me today on the mobile while I was at work....which i've asked them not to do....to remind me about an upcoming donoring session.

It's not that which's pee'd me off, but their insistance that they need my home number & my email address so as to update their records. With the upcoming privatisation of the NHS, the last thing I want is for health insurance companies to start bombarding me with their sales pitch from all directions:moon:

Not bike related but WORK!!! So I know most job roles will change over their natural lifespan... my remit was to find new customers and generate more business. Eight years on I am still targeted to do that but also have to produce technical submissions, go to precontract meetings, technical/design meetings, project meetings, produce quality plans, produce testing and commissioning plans, create technical drawings, sort financial issues with clients, assist in the running of the contracts we have won, proof read the contracts, negotiate contracts and the terms and complete credit checks! Now because we are not hitting the company targets which have been increased by 30% for this year I am being accused of not doing enough! Oh and I have to run training courses for my colleagues who have been doing the job for a lot longer than me! It would seem that the more time my boss spends away from the company the less he understands at how the construction industry has changed and is continually changing. No bonus for five years nor a pay rise in four years and yet a massive increase in workload. It seems that the more I get on with my job without letting on to what level of work I actually do on a daily basis the more it gets over looked. I know this sort of thing will not be unique to me but...Time for a change me thinks, sorry for the rant :)

yep make a change Fergy, soon they will be offering you more money if all is true how much you do, Too many Companies are abusing staff these days, it is a joke, that said, same for me too many og my clients expecting more work for less money, not bothering to renew contracts but still expect you to do the work tied in with other work :(

Sounds like working for the NHS. I left and now I'm poor but much, much happier. Nothing wrong with having a change if the time is right for you. Good luck.

I'm not surprised. I felt quite guilty for leaving the sinking ship but no matter how far you put yourself out they still want more. I reckon I actually took a lunch break about 3 times a month, not because I liked the work but because it was the only way to get everything done. I could go on and on but it makes me so angry even thinking about it. I must stop and go and talk to my bees until I feel calm again.

Frigging clutch went on my car tonight. Right in the middle of Tunbridge Wells. Recovery to home but missed my works night out. Bikes are so much better.
