Was tempted to do track day but haven't had time to prepare the track bike. Probably won't pop by for this one but hope to be there next time

I did think it wasn't the track for the ZZR Ray.
I used to wear my brakes out when cycle racing round there!

It is probably fun on a 250/125. Surprised Ray didn't get dizzy riding ZZR round it :giggle:

I had a quick with Luke Mossey as well - think I saw you Ray but was heading out on a demo ride - which was interesting......

Wanted to try the Z900 but was booked up until about 3pm (I was there at 10am and wasn't going to wait that long) - so went out on a Z650 - quite fun to chuck around, but a bit gutless.
Anyway - off we go on the test ride, about 10 bikes in all - led by one of the instructors on an H2!!!!! Bimbling around the country lanes, quite fun on the Z650 - we get to the Lydden traffic lights to cross the A2 - lorry from the right slows down, lights go green, lead bike (H2) - goes off, only for the lorry to blast his horn and instructor to anchor on - full on stoppy - as a car jumped the red light doing about 70+ - he missed the bike by inches....... would have been VERY messy and VERY expensive...........

I have to use those lights all the time, if they are green you should always check and make sure the way is clear, when pulling onto the A2. There is accidents there regularly

Was soooo close - the lorry was blocking the view so couldn't see it coming - fortunately he went out very tentatively - if he'd gone out normally he'd have been toast!!!!

I really think junctions like that should be removed, not sure what is south but there is an exit not far north, make traffic go up or down and exit and rejoin. it is probably not even the fact that some jump the red light on purpose, just not see it red after knowing it was green and not looking again, although bad driving, different to think ahh it is gonna be red I will just make it and go through it.

You're right, there were lights further along at Barham, loads of serious accidents. They put in A flyover in the end much safer. I must admit I try to avoid the Lydden lights depending on where I'm off to.
