That would suit me, but I'm happy to see what everyone else wants to do.

A most select gathering (my first of the year, I'm ashamed to say). In addition to Fergy, Beelady, Blackhornet and LisaLou, there were Tiger prawns. That's all I'm saying on that subject, as I felt they were 'adequate' rather than moreish. However, Lisa tried them too and was happy, so maybe I'm getting picky in my old age. I followed her recommendation and asked for 'chilli'; I should have enquired more closely, as apparently the One To Have is the 'Five Bean' chilli. Oh well. Lisa put on a brave face and tried the minced beef version which came out but then spent five minutes fanning herself and dabbing at her tongue with a napkin. @lisa lou : follow this link

I thought it tasted pretty good, meself.

Apple pie was 'orf, Love. As was treacle tart, spotted dick and sticky toffee pudding. However, there were still some pieces of Lemon Meringue Pie which were produced, bolstered by ice cream in my case and cream in Black Hornet's case.

I haven't tasted such a lovely pint of Harveys since ...the last time. But that first pull at the foaming pint just fills one's head and suffuses the brain with happiness. Beer is obviously a Wonderful Thing.

I am pleased to report that there was talk of bikes, but also 1,001 uses for linseed oil, the appropriate technique for use of a clay bar on one's car or bike (Tom was puzzled by the need for this); Police riders, Aprons wot I have sewn and repairing offices used by MPs. Pretty wide-ranging, I'm sure you will agree.

In short, a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed evening with interesting human beings - which I really, really enjoyed. It was great seeing you all and there are loads more of you I missed very much. Next month??

I'm not in a position to cast nasturtiums, Paul. But you need to get a grip!
