That's what it's all about, Martin. Slow or fast doesn't matter as long as you have a big grin afterwards. The feeling best described by traveling dogs sticking their heads out ( and tongues) through the car windows.

A guy came through work on an old Ural combination, he'd ridden from Holland and was heading to Cornwall.
In the sidecar were his wife and a Spaniel wearing doggles, looked like it was having a great time - his wife less so as the pooch's ears kept whipping her round the face!

 

A weekend away, camping at a Triumph rally in Wiltshire. I won a prize for the longest distance travelled to the rally by a female rider and I was childishly pleased and boasted about it for the rest of the weekend. Had to be done. You don't get to achieve so much at my age so I was determined to enjoy the moment

 

One of my wife's work colleagues described her new bike as ideally suited to her, short and angry looking

 

A pillion ride, on my own bike, to Gedges, in Hastings, to collect a new Bonneville. That was a novelty, but surprisingly fun and the Street Triple proved to be well up to the job, getting us there in real comfort and with no apparent effort. Not bad for a small bike with two porky passengers to carry.
I've not bought a bike from Gedges since the 1970's, although I know others who have and I've heard nothing but good things about them. They went to a lot of trouble to help us wangle a brand new bike with only our two part X's and a very limited bank account. Right from the start of the deal to leaving the shop with not only the new bike but some quite expensive Triumph clothing, thrown in for free and countless coffees, served in proper mugs and made in the kitchen by their staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. The whole atmosphere in the shop was good and made a really nice change from some of the local bike shops I've been into recently.
So Accessengineer is now the proud owner of a T120 Bonneville. It's a lovely bike and I can ride it too. Can't wait to get a turn on it

The effort of getting on and off was too much and he ended up not wanting to go out so much. After being very poorly for a few days we decided that something dead simple and easy to manage was the way to go. He loved the T120 when he had a test ride a while back so we've emptied both our piggy banks to get one. I was sorry to see the Versys go so soon but it was no use having it sitting unused in the shed. Hopefully he's made the right choice this time.
