I'll be taking a ride to Loomies on the above date, just to have a get together with friends before I scatter John's ashes on the way home. I'm planning to be there all day, so there's no particular time to meet, or any organised ride down there. It's just for anyone who wants to come and say hello and hang out for a while. It was the only thing John could think of. He didn't want a funeral but he loved riding to Loomies and watching the bikes coming and going, so his wish was to have the ashes left in one of his favourite places, and that's what I shall do. It would be great to see any of you that are down that way on the day, but it's a long trip and a busy time of year for everyone. I shan't be offended if nobody can make it but wanted to let everyone know in plenty of time, just in case a few of you can :)

We haven't set any up as I shall be there all day, so there's no set time to arrive and everyone can leave whenever suits them. It's not a formal sort of do, just a casual get together for anyone who wants to be there. There are people coming from all over the place and it seemed a hopeless task to co-ordinate any sort of timing.

You can't go there too often. We've spent many happy hours there, with and without friends. Happy memories.:)

    Hi Emma

It would be good to see you, Andy. It was a good trip wasn't it? We've been back every year since, apart from this year. I shall go again. I need to visit the frozen yogurt shop, as well as watching the racing.

It was a cracking trip! Loved every minute of it - waking up to the sound of the bikes warming up, sitting with the VR46 by accident on qualifying, the food, the BEER, the company was an all round awesome weekend which will stay with me for a long, long time!!

Am thinking of maybe doing it again next year or maybe even try the French GP?

The TT hall have stopped doing the indoor camping. I keep pestering them on their Facebook page if we all do it maybe they'll start it up again.

Have they really?? What a pity!

Not sure if I fancy sleeping out in the campsites with the music, chainsaws and random motors being revved all night lol

The French GP did the indoor camping as well - was one of the reasons I considered doing it - wonder if that's stopped now as well??

I hope it will be a very good day Emma. I would love to be there but I have my kids that weekend otherwise I would have brought "Stinky" along. I am sure John would have liked that. As much as he grumbled about stinky I think he had a soft spot for him lol

I will be raising a glass to you and John on the 29th and remembering all the good times and laughs

Lots of happy memories. Remember the hardest working Triumph Sprint ever built and all of us trying to catch it? That was such a happy summer. He was really pleased with himself for coming up with the names Stinky and Pinky for us and you're right about his sneaky liking for two strokes. He was secretly very impressed at all your knowledge and how well the TZR used to go. He could never have admitted it though. It would have spoilt the enjoyment of thinking up the endless insults. Don't be a stranger though. I have the power of sat-nav now, so if you fancy a meet up I'm free most days, and there's always Jempsons, although the cake is not what it used to be. :)

I can't promise this but keep your phone on tomorrow and if I am able to get down to say hi I will, would have to be on the tzr as the blade has no MOT and has not run for a good six months at least :(

The banter with John was endless, the man is a legend. Every time in his company was superb.

I really wanted to come but had already committed to Motogirl. Manning a stand (or womanning) up north for a biking event.
