I thought I'd post-up a little timeline for the stuff I've done to the KTM over the past couple of months.

Originally I just wanted to have the wheels rebuilt, but then, well you know... I had more stuff 'done'.
    • New custom stainless spokes
    • New wheel bearings
    • New chain & sprockets
    • Full service including valve clearances
    • Swapped out the centre & side stands with Tunner for longer ones
    • New OEM spotlights
    • Custom welded spotlight brackets
    • Powdercoated the engine bars, pannier frames, grab rails, rear rack, wheel hubs, sump guard, front grille & battery box cover
    • Refitted the tailtidy (with OEM wiring)
    • New rear brake pads
    • Painted the brake disc inner rings, ABS rings & rear sprocket
    • Acid treated & repainted all removed fixings
    • Gave everything a good clean
    How the bike looked last summer (including the now-removed crappy number plate, so now back to the original reg.);

Perhaps we could organise a "clean-off?" Get you both to ride somewhere really mucky then have a panel of judges mark you after you've cleaned up! :)
Or you could just take turns cleaning mine, no special muck required!

I like the idea ..... how about we ride them somewhere really mucky then you have to clean them both!

Nah, I'll clean both mine and Tunner's bikes after they get dirty. I'll know that they've been done properly then.

    Woooooord. :sneaky:

i bet they hate putting new rubber on your bike for fear of getting it dirty. i rock up and on go the ltex gloves to keep them clean, you rock up and out come the white cotton gloves saved for you and prince williams duke. :D just need scrubbing in now :D

Ah well, here's the thing... I only take loose wheels down there as I wouldn't want those chumps fiddling with my bike. I might 'give the wheels a wipe' afterwards, sometimes (but shhhhh). ;)

I'll go give them a scrub tomorrow.

Finchy, I bet you also go round the tyre with a pair of nippers to remove all the moulding sprues too ;)
