see my post about doing a circle down the A286 towards Chichester via Haslemere and going back via 285/283. Good little run. Great place to eat on the A286 with an outdoor garden, see if I can remember its name

    Hi Fellow Motorcyclists,

Hope you're all well, unbelievably our little motorcycle safety show (Ride it Right) is this Sunday (18th) , and we do hope we will see a few of you down here on the day. We say it every year, but hasn't this year flown past, any way the weather doesn't look that bad for Sunday so what with the valuable safety input, the magnificent collection of exhibitors, the weather, the tasty food and the wonderful company of fellow motorcyclists, we have we believe all the ingredients for yet another great day down here at the fire station.

There are however a few things I would like to bring your attention to, first the safety side of things.........

    Safety 1

One of our guest speakers on the day will be a Mr Tony Scott, Tony has been involved in motorcycling for over 20 years, he has run his own motorcycle racing school, the 'European Superbike School' where he has worked with some of the greatest motorcycle racers the world has ever seen like Mick Doohan (5 times world champion), Randy Mamola and Frankie Chili. Tony now runs a company called T3 Racing that are specialists race motorcycle engine tuners. He also runs the Triumph Triple Challenge on behalf of Triumph as well as the factory supported 'Superstock' and 'Supersport' racing team at the British Championships.

At 'Ride it Right' Tony will be talking on area's of motorcycling including, - Road Riding Skills, Track Riding Skills and how to prepare your bike for track days etc. He will also be open to any questions from the audience, some of the question often asked of Tony are......

What tyres should I use for track days?

What should I take off my bike for track days?

What should I put on my bike for track days?

What are the best products I can buy for my bike?

So if you would like the benefit of Tony's advice and to ask a few questions of your own, then come along to 'Ride it Right' on Sunday.

    Safety 2

Also at the show will be a Dr John Darcy GP, John is a member of the Medical Support Team (MST) to the International Search & Rescue Team and was leader of the MST to the Japan, Hati and Pakistan earthquakes, he has also been attending Road Traffic Collisions for over 20 years. On the day in just five minutes John will show you how to manage a motorcycle accident scene like a pro! - Just devoting 5 minutes of your time to John could make all the difference!

    Safety 3

As well as Tony and John we will once again have the services of Mike from Rubber Ranch (Mobile Tyre Fitting Service) Mike will be offering Free Tyre Safety Checks that will include, tread depth, pressure and general wear & tear as well as chain & brake inspections. If you are in any doubt about the condition of your tyres please see Mike before you leave the show - you know it makes sense!

    Safety 4

Dave Evans from the South East Coast Ambulance Service will again be on hand to teach anyone who doesn't know the very important 'life skill' of CPR and to refresh those that do.

    Safety 5

The Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists will be offering assessed rides from their stand at 'Ride it Right'

WVAM help bikers improve their awareness of hazards and to appreciate matching speed to conditions, using a system based on the police system of motorcycle control.

Having an assessment is free, will take about 30 - 40 mins, and will give you a brief idea as to what to expect should you decide to sign up to take The Institute of Advanced Motorists, Advanced Motor Cycle Test.

No matter how long (or short!) you've been riding, there is always something new to learn. Riding to the system will make you a safer, smoother and more progressive rider.

There will be lots of Wey Valley members at the event, who will be happy to bend your ear if you just want to chat about how it all works.. for more info before the event check out the website.

And finally a few more exhibitors who will be at the show

    RideSure (Motorcycle Training)

    Urbane Dyno (Dyno Services)

    Destination Triumph (Triumph Dealership)

    Dream Machine Images (Automotive Portraiture)

    The Motorbike Shop (Yamaha Dealership)

    Ultra Seal GB (Tyre Sealant)

As previously mentioned it's all pointing in the direction of another great show, please join us.

    Regards

The 'Ride it Right' Project Team

If we meet at 1066 cafe at 1000 and leave at 1030 , it's gonna be 1300/1330 before we get there. Are we gonna be able to park near the fire station and will there still be things going on after that time???

Hmmm, I just thought of a fun way to integrate this into riding back from Brighton that morning. I may come. Torn between that and playing in Ashdown Forest with Les :D
