I live in a townhouse in Lewes. On the ground floor is the garage and my workroom/office which opens up onto the garden. It's sodding freezing down here! :brr:

The first floor is a good temperature and the second floor is nice and warm. This is typical. It will get unbearable as winter draws in.

The thing is, it's actually warmer when I step out into the garden than it is in my workroom. What is with this? I'm seriously considering getting a portable heater just for this room as I don't want to put the central heating on just yet.

    What is going on?

That's probably because when the sun comes out the garden warms up, where as inside where it's shaded it will always be cooler first thing. Prolly best to get yourself a little fan heater.

Prolly cos it's been busier recently...:giggle:

I now have a fan heater!

Might be able to take those gloves off now...

Ahhh... makes sense. This room never gets any direct sunlight so that would explain it.

The thermal mass of the concrete on the ground floor is probably the main problem, in conjunction with heat rising...hence second floor being nice and warm.
