Battle Bonfire night

    who has been, who is going this year, is it worth going???

    the website says something along the lines of outsiders stay the hell out so doesnt sound very welcoming. Do any of the local yokels know the real deal?

    it used to be brilliant :thumbsup: when the fireworks were on the front of the Abbey but since they have been moved to the battle field it's not as good. They do put on a good display but walking from the high street down to the battle field and back after the fireworks is a pain in the big crowds :thumbsdown: However this year it falls on the same night as the Lewis bonfire so it's likely to be quieter.

    Maybe the fact i've been 18 times out of the last 20 means i'm bored with it. :rolleyes: if you have never been and can stand the weather and parking then it's maybe worth seeing and feeling ( they do shake the floor from 500 yards away ) :D

    east hoathly is a good one to go to thats on the 12th. went last year and it was awesome. the whiz popper bangs were spectacular,

    Very very busy.

    Don't try and come by car, there is no parking. Extra trains are laid on but they are packed, and I mean cattle wouldn't be allowed to be transported in such conditions. It is also meant to be very wet.

    That said the processions are very good and there are five bonfires... it's just become a victim of it's own success

    lucky ol me has a baby sister who's house backs onto danson park and her sons 26th birthday is this weekend ....doubt ill be riding the bike for at least 48 hrs after the binge thats about to be partaken in :rubhands:%)<%)

    If not they bloody SHOULD do!

    Have a witchfinder general thing with pikies......very cool......:rubhands:

    And use Napalm to make a good splash!
