What creative methods do you use for cleaning tarnished downpipes?

I had a success recently with aluminium foil, WD40 and Autosol. Squash some baking foil into a ball, add some Autosol, and a little squirt of WD40, and have a rub (no Tom, not there ).

Appears to work quicker than Autosol on a cloth, and doesn't damage or scratch the pipes.

Anyone got any other time / elbow saving methods?

Cola works well with tin foil.

I use "Blue Job" on mine. Really fine & doesn`t scratch chrome but it does take a bit of elbow grease to get the best out of it.

It really is damn good stuff, gives your polished bits a waxing to so retards it going off so quickly, always use it on my bikes....
