Have to be careful as some tyres can look like they're back to front, but are really fitted the right way (pattern reverse of on front/rear), check for the direction arrow.

Realising, and accepting, how totally futile it is to try and keep the wooden floors and leather sofas clean when you have two cats, wet weather and a marshland stream behind your house. :barefoot:

Admit it, it's Tom making the mess not the cats.

I have leather and wood plus a cat and garden - no mess, also no Tom. Coincidence, I think not... :hah:

Correlation does not equal causation - but in this case, I am moved to misquote Sherlock Holmes: "When you have eliminated the impossible, what is left must be the answer, no matter how improbable." I agree!!

I posted this in the "What's pissed me off today" thread. I promised to report back tonight. On balance, I felt I should post it in this "..smile today.." thread.
[quote] Leaving my wallet in the door pocket of my colleague's car when he dropped me at home two hours ago. Trouble is, I was going to do some on-line payments tonight (need that debit card to put into the Barclays number generator Thingy) and I have to use same piece of plastic to go to the Post Orifice tomorrow to buy road tax for my car (having tried a week ago to do it on line but discovered my MoT ran out the day before); now I have to ride over to his house in Folkestone (not so bad you may think) but I washed and polished the machine at the weekend and I have just checked tomorrow's forecast :rain:.

I have to convert this into positive thinking:
    1. the credit card people don't deserve to have my money anyway
    2. I like Gary and even though I've just spent two days in very close company with him mostly sitting in his car, I look forward to seeing him again. He may even offer me a cup of strong tea.
    3. I will enjoy the ride to Folkestone and then back to the T/Wells Post Awfulness where I can have entertaining discourse with a possibly illegal immigrant and cheer up his or her day, thus feeling good about myself.
    4. As a special bonus, I will really enjoy rewashing and polishing my once near pristine bike.
    5. Those emails and steaming customers will be all the better for maturing for another half day.

    I'll report back tomorrow night...[unquote]

Ok, it did rain, but not so's you'd notice. I put the Pinlock into my visor, donned textile waterproofs and rode over to Folkestone on some of my favourite roads. My overtakes were executed flawlessly (Spin may disagree, but they weren't bad!), at no time did I slip on a manhole cover; although the roads were sort of damp, the sun shone and I arrived exactly when I said I would. There was a hot, strong cup of tea waiting for me with a hot muffin and jam. The return journey to T/Wells was a wee bit damper, and the light was going, but the traffic parted as the seas might have for Moses.

There was exactly the right amount of room for me to park near to the Post Office; the people in the queue were jolly and the individual cashier sympathised with the amount of road tax I have to pay, favoured me with a beaming smile and sent me on my way clutching my brand new Tax disc. There was no queue at the bank. I managed not to leer when the cashier asked if she could do anything else for me today.

As a final bonus, my internet connection has held up long enough for me to make the required online payment to the credit card company (may they have wet socks for the rest of their natural lives and then die horribly) and to be able to post this :).

I am going to delay the gratification I shall obtain from cleaning my bike until Saturday - besides, it's still peeing down and it's also dark. Happy Panel Man! And that was all from starting today with a positive outlook...

Finding out my new 'near neighbours' (three doors down in a terrace of five houses) are actually good friends with my immediate neighbours and therefore less likely to be bloody awful and annoying.
