Maybe they should tie it in with this one. ;)

I wish they would enforce following distances like they do in Germany and jay walking like they do in the US

I must admit, I do think they should have some form of "jay walking" law for built up areas at least. I can`t recall the exact figures but I have mentioned elsewhere on here, the majority of pedestrian vs vehicle accidents happen within 10m of an official crossing point.

    No drink, no drive....sorted!

At least we would all know where we stand, and waste less time for the coppers...... more time on crims and the like.....

I disagree. That is once again treating me like a child incapable of making responsible decisions. I should be able to go out for an evening and have a glass of wine with my dinner and still be able to drive home.

Although zero tolerance seems like a good idea in principle I think it would actually generate more routine work for the police taking them away from the streets. There would be more cases of people having to be taken in for failing a roadside breath test than there is now.

Agree with Jay walking - People just dont look - But as for the rest it thinks its all ok over here - they could up speedlimits a bit on Motorways and some oteher roads though and take down every speed camera

What makes it worse is that with mobile phones, ipods & the like people are even less aware of their surroundings.

Agreed, because its not like the cops could say we have zero tolerance for blood/alcohol levels, we can all go home now. People would still chance it and it would still have to be monitored. In this country, its the general attitude to alcohol that needs to be solved, on the continent, they drink far more per capita but they have far less alcohol related incidents of crime and accidents.

Surely that would defeat the point of them being 'mobile' phones :hah:

Thats ok Chickadee as long as you know the limits.....coz in a stop check you'd be mighty pissed off if you got a nicking.
let's face it, if you get stopped and you smell of booze of which you would even with just one glass of wine, you're up for the breathalyser.....Then again if some pratt drove into you on your way home and it's not your fault, your still up for the breathalyser.....If we all know that you don't drink/drive full stop, the coppers would have you banged to rights straight away and that would save time and money fucking about wasting time at the station......
We all like a drink, and we all know where drinking and driving leads to. Anyway, I'm sure if you didn't drink/drive at all, you'd have a better and enjoyable evening without the curse of shitting yourself on the way home just in case you get pulled....
It's only responsible when you know and stick to the legal limits which I hope as a biker you do.....
My case here is to make life easier for everyone......Us and the Police......
    Job done!

I`m assuming its because they didn`t have archaic licensing laws that restricted the times alcohol could be sold like we had. It was only about 1995 that pubs were allowed to open between 3pm & 7pm.

Why should I be banged up for 1 glass of wine over a 2 hour period???? Thats nuts. It doesnt waste time at the station, I have being pulled over a couple of times and breathalysed, they breathalyse you on the spot (and obviously I was not over the limit). Sorry, but using your phone while driving is far more dangerous that a glass of wine with dinner so lets bang those guys up instead! Just because someone drives into me and I have had one drink, how does that automatically make it my fault???? If you get drunk on one glass of wine with dinner, well, not sure what to say about that that is not insulting.

Chicks, we all have differing metabolisms, so where you might be hunky dory with a glass or two, the next persona could be pissed as a newt and the like......
And yes mobile phones are a curse and all those that drive and use them should be decapitated!

Thats another thing Dave, even if you are within the legal limit & have an accident even if its not your fault, it will still be on the insurance co. records that you had been drinking & knowing them buggers, it`ll still put your premium up.
