One of mine has just started to leak. Bike shop says to replace both seals on both legs but it should be OK to just have one leg done wouldn't it?

Course it is. Maybe they mean as the leg is off anyway?:) Usually find it's also worth doing the head bearings but then...where do you stop?

I would always do both together so you know same oil is in both - i have seen 2 diffrent grates before in each fork !

    makes sense to me

though I was told by Colin at 100% suspension that the bracing between the forks is so good theese day, that differences in different legs don't make have too much effect, hence how some budget bikes have, compression adjustment on one leg and rebound on the other

Yeah, that always seemed wrong to me although it must've worked. Bit like those contacts that are for short range in one eye & long in the other & your brain compensates.

Had both sets sorted. Looking back through the S/H one fork had them replaced but the other fork didn't. 2 different grades of oil in each leg and oil was lower in one than the other.

Plush as anything now. Hope to get out at the weekend and set them up properly.
