Going to have to replace the front ones on my bike as I am now getting the dreaded 'lever pulse'. I have stripped the calipers and rebuilt them; everything is moving smoothly. So I know the discs are warped.

Should I go for Suzuki OEM ones (which I can get for £230 a pair) or EBC ones (£300 a pair)? I know I have got to fit new pads. Someone suggested Armstrong discs but I have read mixed reviews on them - some say they've been fine and others say they're s*ite.

Have you had any issues with them though? AT that price I MAY be tempted but what price safety? Knowing my luck I'd get a set that turn into prawn crackers.

Get them straightened at maidstone motoliner, even cheaper

dont think its ever been proven that the dreaded K4/5 judder is down to discs, though it would be the first thing to check, but not neccesacary splash out on new ones without exploring further

i had a pulse and massive fade on the R6 disc, turned out that cracking the floating bits and replacing the pads completely solved the problem but i was about ready to replace the disc until then. but i was told that i could have warped disc corrected (skimmed ) and a chap from hastings would have done them if i needed too :D

The guy who did my forks said that the reason for the judder is the fact that up in the leg there's a teflon bush which is really thin and deforms under load. Can be replaced with a proper bush from an RGV250. Going to stick a gauge on the discs tonight to check for runout. And also going to call Motoline Maidstone tomorrow to see what they reckon. If they can sort it that's £40 well spent.

Nope, done 4 trackdays so far and been perfect....more abuse than you'd give them on the road. Also a mate now runs them on his Gixxer 1000 and thinks they're great.

I got a set off ebay, a proper British company they touted themselves as (cant find them now so must have gone pop!) they were £150.00 and they work fine go all rusty at the mere mention of rain! Cured the pulsing though. I did change the pads, clean the callipers and fit new hoses first. I still have the old set so if someone can let me have the details of the guy around Hastings way that can cure the warp I may just get them done and back on????

Missed out on a set of Braking wavy discs at the weekend, but last night I won a set of OE discs on eBay for a tenner :disco:. The set fitted on the bike at the moment will go to Maidstone Motoliner - if I can summon up the energy to ride out there.

I used to run PFM cast iron rotors on my TL1k. They gathered rust just sitting in the garage between rides, but damn me did they anchor up!

The Chinese copies are getting so good now it almost defeats the point of buying branded for quality, I ordered a tacho from China recently. It arrived (free postage) in 4days and functions flawlessly with a finish easily as good as the 'premium' gauges I had already.

    If it works, it works.
