A21 Biker Accident

Was stuck on the Northbound A21 between Tonbridge & Sevenoaks for a couple of hours this afternoon. Lots of emergency service vehicles and a helicopter. Had no idea what the issue was until the road was re-opened and I was able to pass the incident - only to see a black Fireblade laying on the carriageway while the police conducted their RTA investigations. It was sickening to recognise the bike, as it had passed me near Scotney Castle (I was driving, not riding).

So if anyone knows who this guy could be, my thoughts are with him. Reports online state that his injuries are 'very serious', but there's no update on his condition. For info, it was a '98 (ish) black & grey blade, rider was a bit scruffy and had a black & white lid.

On another note - Tom, was that you on your R6 heading South?

I was at work today and no-one came in,,,,,so either not well enough to make it to us and went to another hospital for stabilisation, or didn't make it at all to a trauma hospital.

Thoughts with all family and friends...

that report isn't from today but back in 2011.

i know it's normally standard to say injured rather than dead in early press releases until next of kin can be found.

Yes I saw that little tent being guarded by a an officer. The helicopter was there for ages but didn't seem to fly off in any hurry... and I didn't see an ambulance leave the scene. Nasty business.

Incidentally, I heard your bike before I saw it. Quite distinctive eh. Also surprised to see you so far from home ;).

Always sad news, strange place for an accident too. i guess thats why the road was closed for so long to try and work out what may have happened.
