I've spent a bit of time on my own bike today so I thought I'd post up a few pics.

I now have 10w Cree LED Spots fitted and 50w HID on the dipped beam

The quality of the HID kits I use are as superb as ever and an excellent addition.

The 10w Cree LED's are an absolutely lovely bit of kit. Cast alloy bodies, stainless mounting and fixing hardware and beautiful quality cabling and weatherproof plug'd fly leads. They are a pleasure to fit and very bright!

I think I'm going to get my gear on and go for a ride!!

i like the extra lights, something the hornet really suffers from. there ok in a straight line on full beam at night but dipped beam or cornering and you start playing the guessing game of where the road goes.

I know what you mean, the beauty of the spots is that you can spread the beam out wide. They also give great presence and make you ultra visible.

Thats the problem I have with my spots is that they have been wired up to the high beam rather than the dipped. If they were wired into dipped, I wouldn`t have had to ride home from Hastings 1 night after a chip run relying just on my parking light whenever a car came the other way.

How bright are the LEDs compared to the Tungsten lamp. Do you do HIDs. I need better lighting on my Midnight Star?

The LEDs I fitted are equivalent to 100w halogen but super white. However they're rated at 760 lumens output which is significantly more light than a 100w halogen which are usually rated at about 450-500 depending on the reflector / lens.

I do 'do' HID installations and I have a vendor that is an absolute expert in designing the systems. The only drawback is that there is a lot of hardware that needs to be hidden in order to make them work (A ballast and an ignitor box) as shown below. This is fine with a bike that has bodywork / fairing to hide it all in but fitting a setup such as this to a naked bike or custom bike will need a more creative approach! They are amazingly bright and clear though!

If you look at the photo I posted of the front of my KTM you can just see the ballast box mounted behind the grille

Looks good Chris! I stuck my pair of ballasts up beside the cockpit subframe, so they sit above the front idicators, in between the panel mount holes (mainly because my ECU sits right in the way otherwise!).

How much for a pair mounted on my crashbars, wired to low beam circuit?.I'll do the fitting. When can I meet up to see how effective your set up is?:)
