I was contemplating test riding the z750 but reckon not much point till I get back from half-term holidays as don't want to be buying anything in a hurry. May change my mind in next hour though lol, will definitely let you know if I do. Hope to get out this afternoon, no plans though except cake :giggle:. Haven't done to Rye, Tenterden, Biddenden route for ages so may be an idea?

Well if anyone fancies - meet at the 1066 at 1.30. Aim to leave fairly soon after that (ie not having nosh) then head cross country to Cranbrook, Biddenden, Bethersden then drop down towards Military Canal and Rye (coffee and cake :) ). Not that I know all the roads but if there's a detour then so be it lol!

I have a feeling I may have been chasing you around for part of your circuit today. Haven't ridden since December and i told myself I'd just top up the tank, make sure the brakes work blah, blah, blah. In the end (despite a wobble heading up my drive to the road caused by mud) I visited Heathfield, Etchingham, Bethersden and Tenterden. Have to confess I'd not have kept up with everyone because I was as stiff as can be and not exactly toasty warm, so slow corners were a bit of a nightmare. (Never a problem for Tom, I know). And yes, there were some slippery corners caused by left-over gravel and grit piled up in the centre and scattered haphazardly across the road by passing cars. Oh, and the potholes! Just one swerve was required to save my tyres and dignity but after dark it would have been a different matter altogether. Some rather odd lines around corners (and a positively pedestrian pace) avoided all the others.

It did feel really good to be on the bike again though!

i don't know i don't think we got much above 2/3's of summer speeds today and after a few slides even 1/2 speed seamed plenty fast enough. It was scary enough without pushing any limits today. But then that still means nearly as much of a smile :D and beat not going out

Good to get out yesterday and see a few of you at the 1066, pleased I stayed on the main A roads though as I get used to the R1 which couldnt be more different from the way my 1000 vtwin delivered the power. I'm really enjoying the change and as the weather warms going to be good exploring the power, handling, brakes etc. :)
