Fair comment but if the ring was still intact & sealing then it would appear to be fine (Please note I am NOT a mechanic so could well be talking total bollocks) :)

That is total crap. What a bunch of f****ng wa***rs!!! I agree with your FB post - hanging is too quick. Although hang, draw and quarter was not so pleasant. That would be the way to go.
:hug2: to you. If there is anything you need to borrow in the meantime then let me know.

No need of tools for now, no parts left to work on :(

I can only imagine (and I hope that it's not someone I know) that they looked shiny so they took them.

The annoying thing is once they work out they have no use for them they will dump them somewhere. :-(
It will be worth watching gumtree too.

That would certainly pi$$ me off! These "people" are scum and I really wouldn't want to be in their shoes if I caught them doing my place.

Whomever did it and my tools (the blunt ones) should provide alleviation enough for a few days.

    Thanks, fella.

Think my fireblade has a gearbox fault!!! Missed a gear today, not thrashing it or anything but gave it a fistful of revs instead of changing. Anyhoo, got it into gear no issue but got this horrible clattering noise. Seems to be much more prevalent in fourth gear. I keep trying to think it will be an easy fix but the sensible side of me says it is goosed. To fix it is a split cases job.

Bike isn't jumping out of gear, changes easily and still accelerates like a madman but there is this bloody noise. Sometimes it is there, sometimes not.

Got to take it to my mate Lee who owns MotoWorks in Newington and see if he can diagnose. If it is a shagged transmission I will propbably drop the engine myself (never dropped a four banger motor from a bike before) to save on labour OR get another engine.

Proper pee'd off about this as I though fireblades were supposed to be bloody strong :(

Hi Alan. I may well take you up on this. My mate Lee is a Honda trained tech and I am going to quickly run it up to him on Monday morning to see if it is anything he has seen/heard before. But, I know that you know blades of this age well so I will appreciate any help mate as I am at a loss with it but desperately want it back to its best ASAP.

Happened on a rideout today and it is definitely gearbox/clutch related as at idle the engine sounds fine. That said I am no mechanic, certainly not with four strokes anyway.

Luckily I have this week off so I hope to find a solution quickly while I have time.

I am hopeful it is something simple but when the issue seems far more obvious when it drops in to fourth you have to fear the worst!! I have my fingers crossed though. With the clutch out and in neutral it has always sounded a bit harsh which I understood to be a "blade feature" but seems more so since this has occurred
