the injectors have gone, 2 are knackered and the other 2 aren't great. It's about the most expensive things on the car that can go

now everyone knows that i am crap with mechanics but even i have done a couple of head gaskets on cars before.
last time i had one done at a garage it was £200 and a simple job.

Every other garage had quoted me £800 telling me they had to remove this and that etc just to get the head off, all of which was untrue the whole head could be lifted with everything attached so get a few quotes .

Thats a bit extreme as I'm sure it can still be extracted with the right tool.

Done it with cars some years ago, must be similar but no, never tried a bike caliper.

You could drill into it with a drillbit very slightly smaller than the width of the nipple, less the thread. That leaves a very thin 'insert' that can be broken and removed with a bit of care. Knowing the depth to drill is tricky, useful if you have a nipple removed from the other side. However, if you do drill slightly too deep you just make a new 'seat' for the new nipple. :)

we did that on liela's track bike and managed to get the bolt out. if there is enough room you can tap a screw driver into it and twist it out.

well it won't hurt to have a spare set. once the others arrive you can take your time fixing the old ones and then either sell them for similar money or keep them for spares
