How about I pinch your bike preferably when the next track day is on :) Can't wait to see and hear it. And this one is made in India, Pakistan or The Falkland's

Nice new bike  well done for going for it. But don't let Phil use it, I'd be much gentler with it :rubhands:

Phil. You're not going the right way to borrow it!

I'm not going to bother to find out. Anyway, it's so good it doesn't matter :)

Halfords probably passed it because they don't stock any spares for it. And it sure doesn't need Go-Faster stripes!

I got to try my Daytona, at last!

After a very nervous start, just around the block, and a bit of a wrestling match, which I lost because it's bigger and stronger then me, we went for a run to the 1066 and back. Now it feels as if I've owned it forever. What a brilliant bike it is. Really quite different to the Sreet Triple, I found some things I liked better and some I didn't, although I need to ride it more before I could make a really fair comparison. Reality doesn't always match up to the dream, but I am in love with it already.

Once pay day comes round again I want to buy some stompgrip for the tank and some grip puppies for my hands, just to make life a little easier, and I'll be a very happy bunny. Still undecided about the shortie levers, but I managed well enough so that's not top of my to do list any more.

Roll on next weekend. I'm longing to take it out again :)

bikes always take a bit of time to get used too. I hate any new bike I try until I get off park it up for about 30 mins and once I back on it I start to feel at home

Some people seem to be able to ride anything with no practice and no problems. I seem to need quite some time to gain confidence, but it always comes in the end. I just need to get lots of miles done.
I don't seem to have much trouble with the bike, but the datatool alarm thingy? It's definately going to be the hardest part of the job. It's the most stressful part of the whole experience, so far.

If it makes you feel better in any way, I never managed to master the immobiliser/alarm system on my bike either. The batteries in the blipper(s) would fade or die at imprecise intervals; the sensor for them was buried behind the seat so deeply that triggering it while actually astride the machine reduced the likelihood of functioning to <10%. I admit to never really learning the range of beeps, wails and shrieks, especially those generated by gentle rocking of the machine when unattended.

It was supposed to inform me how many trucks had driven by creating an artificial breeze as they passed. But the utility of this information escapes me. And certainly embarrassed and infuriated when the normal sequence of button presses elicited something other than the Happy Beep signifying,"I am ready, Master".

I had a thick booklet filled with all varieties of noise and ...er, absense of noise. Yet standing beside a petrol pump with a shouty motorbike uttering noise levels calculated to endanger the eardrums of any not wearing helmets and earplugs was an experience I underwent more than once.

One angry granny emerged from her Nissan Micra to mouth obsenities at me and engage in some aerobic exercise with her arms. Did she really think I was doing this on purpose?

My next bike will not have one of these Works of the Devil. I will depend on mechanical means of theft prevention. And hopefully retain the love of all persons within a radius of a mile.

Twas a couple of weeks back but I still smile...
While walking past the kiddies ball maze thing at a pool/sports centre there were screams followed by a stampede of kids followed by the adults. Turned out that a grandmother had spotted her toddler in the maze, pulling his nappy aside & pooing all over the coloured balls but couldn't find her way in quick enough to stop him. Got outside & laughed like a freak, still grinning now.:hah:

what made me smile was watching a film\ documentary called " why we ride" and once i got past the americanisms i found i related to much of what was said ....for instance ...did i find biking or was it in me already? and the answer was its in my genes ...my grandfather rode and my father rode and from the moment my father sat me at the age of 11 astride his little c90 commuter while he sat behind me, on the private service road behind our house , ......i was hooked its more than a hobby its a lifestyle, a passion and in regards to the biking community ...its more ...sooo much more ..its an extended family ....no rider is seen left at the roadside ...known or unknown ....regardless of race colour or creed, make, size, model, it doesnt matter ....how many other communities can claim that....the common denominator ....2 wheels ...thats it.
