Sat 1st November Charlie Bear Ride

    Well, the weather looks great for tomorrow again so I have decided to take Charlie Bear on a little jaunt around some of the sites of Sussex.
    This is the planned route:

    I am thinking
    • Battle Abbey
    • Rye (Mermaid Street is cool)
    • Bodiam Castle
    • Wessons for coffee and cake
    • The Long Man at Wilmington (if can find somewhere to get a good pic with him in the background)
    • Birling Gap
    • 1066
    What I haven't nailed down yet is which way round to do it ie start at 1066 and Birling Gap and end in Battle or the other way round. I also need to put some times up but will do that asap. I want to take lots of pics and maybe get some video footage. I will post up the finalised idea on 1066 and SEC Facebook as well, if not many can come from the forum, so that there are a few people joining in.

    Any ideas of other places that could be good to add in please let me know!

    Anyone fancy joining some/all of the ride and if so where do you want to meet/start?

    As a suggestion, hows about meet at battle then head to wessons then to rye and round all of your other destinations finishing back at wessons or another place in that direction or would you prefer to finish nearer home?

    I will be out but sadly not for the entire day out with Charlie :(

    Drove through battle tonight and barriers around where we normally meet so it looks as though it would be a no go. Will keep an eye on this to see what you decide and hopefully see you tomorrow :)

    Lol. Am just re-jigging the route and then will put up some times.

    However, meet point is 1066 9.30-10is with the aim of leaving by 10.30am.

    10.30 leave 1066
    11.00 Rye
    12.00 Bodiam (very quick stop)
    1.30 Birling Gap then on to the Long Man to see if anywhere we can grab a pic - or somewhere near Cuckmere Valley
    2.30 - 3ish Wessons for much needed coffee and cake. Then head home

    Sound ok - any other ideas - does timing look feasible?

    I haven't been out in ages as have been rather p!55ed off of late with one thing and another so may well head to 1066 but may not get there until near on the 11am start.

    Yep :). I will probably take a wander up Mermaid Street to get the cobble stones and wonky tudor buildings in pic. :)

    True but would only be able to go as far as bodium as I have to be in T wells in the afternoon.
