Wow!!! That's some serious work they've done. I dread to think how it looked before the graft though.

So glad you are on the road to recovery Deano!! x

I have pics from most stages from straight after the graft to every dressing change and yes it did look a tad worse to begin with... also altho I dont have a copy, I got to see the pics they took when they did the first 3 operations to remove the dead flesh and debride it and that was pretty horrific... Its not too bad now, pain is mostly gone , its mostly physio induced pain im battling against now, I physically have 130 deg bend in my arm assisted but can only manage just over 90 under power of my own muscles - turns out they removed a portion of my tricep hence why im having alittle trouble with it. Good news is I'm now cleared to drive and ride my bike when I feel I can. went round the block in the car yesterday and wasn't too bad, sat on the bike this morning, position is fine, so riding shouldn't be an issues, all the controls are within easy reach and I had no problems operating the clutch.. the question is whether I have the strength back to push it around and how well I would hold up to a longish ride. ive sorned the bike for the moment but will prob retax it beginning of febuary and start off gentle with some little pootles around the marsh and see how it goes from there.. im hoping by then the physio will have me pretty flexible so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Wow, that is some work. When you see things like this it really does make you appreciate doctors and the NHS. Amazingly talented people these placcy surgeons are.
Good to read of your strong recovery.

Gosh! Pretty dreadful stuff. Sorry if I missed, but how did it happen? I'm always looking at 'cause and effect' so maybe I can learn some through others

Definitely a great service, I never had plastic surgery, But the orthopaedics dep at the WHH was fantastic, After my crash i was in and out in 2 days after having pins and plate in my hip. 10/10 would recommend... Wait.. No
