After the terrible accident in MotoGP yesterday, did anyone ride their bikes in a different way today?

Took me longer to get to work, and I was riding VERY defensively...

Nope, accidents happen all the time so until it's mine I'll keep riding the same.

how bizarre.what has an accident on a race track got to do with how you ride on the road?.I always ride defensively its what keeps me alive.Doesnt mean i cant enjoy riding and be a hoolie, just maintain high awareness of the plebs around me.

Nope, i think - one of the things that unite motorcyclists is the high risk/vulnerability element we share and should all be very aware of. Due to the speed, racing is even more high risk....
Im certainly not surprised/shocked/ (but am saddened) when we loose people.

Nah, but I'm pretty cautious/defensive anyway. Besides, I can't really go MotoGP speeds on my bike or around where I live.

Saddened...yup. Change my riding...no. I'm looking for size 11/12 boots if you do give up.;)

My riding changed because a rider I know and rode with a couple of times died last Thursday, that affects my riding because I thought he was an excellent rider and its close to home. Same as when my ex-boss had a bad accident on his blackbird, he was such a natural rider and Im not, so seeing someone like him have a serious accident, thats the kind of stuff that throws me. Someone dying on a track doesnt affect me because its different riding, different circumstances and dangers.

A bike riding dispatcher mate of mine was squished by an army truck while riding alongside it & talking to the driver. I was driving the following truck which certainly got to me for a while as he was generally thought by us all to be invincible.

hmmm, I dont want to offend anyones memory but youre only potentially "invincible" when youre actually paying attention to the road.

Invincible in this case was just him generally. 18 stone, hard as nails family man, took no shit & spoke his mind but a 'good guy'. Just his time I guess.

I do think about it, but not when I'm on the bike. Though it did annoy me more than normal when a car insisted on driving really close behind me today!

yeah but that doesnt make you exempt from watching the road ahead rather than chatting to the bloke in the car next to you. sometimes bikers are own worst enemy :-(
