Just bolt your clip ons on top of the yoke (after grinding the lug off the bottom) = free :D

Before you spend lots of money on the bars, check what you'll need to do with the clutch cable / brake hose and master cylinder, and wires to the switchgear. They'll all need re-routing, so will the steering turn without anything fouling? If you're lucky it'll be a straight swap but there's a fair chance you'll need to replace the cable and hose, and worse case scenario there may not be any spare length to relocate the cables either.

I bought adjustable bars for a bike years ago, and ended up with them in almost exactly the same place because the wiring wouldn't stretch.

Fair points. The Helibars are supposed to be a straight swap using existing cables. With the Gilles it could be a problem at the highest extent however I'd thought about swapping for some Hel cables anyway and getting custom lengths. I'm not a grease monkey so a friendly mechanic will be fitting them for me otherwise it all could get a bit messy.

Cables and hoses are relatively easy as you just swap them over (but it'll add to the cost). It's the wiring to the switchgear which is the real issue. You can't just swap them over unless you can find switchgear from a similar model with longer wires.

Right, forgot about the electrics :red:. Although, they are listed specifically by bike model rather than generic so how hard can it be . I'll be checking with the mechanic before buying anything.

Thanks for the warnings/advice so far.

If they say they are bike specific, they SHOULD fit! But suffice to say I have had a few "bike specific" parts that didn't fit ;)
