On bike forums lots of contributors are keen to point out the shortcomings of car drivers, and group car drivers into a sub species of incompetents! So, here's the big question, do you own a car or are you a 'pure' biker?

I only own a bike (sold my car 2 years ago after getting the bike) but I do have a works van at the moment & Sue has her Motability car which I do drive.

I expect that the majority of us also own a car. At present I only own two bikes, and use my wife's car probably three or four times a month. However, after 30+ years of driving a car I still consider myself a driver more than a biker.

I own a car - necessary for work but I'd still have one even if it wasn't. I only got my license four years ago as I was living in London and didn't need one there. Now I average 18k miles a year. :(

The bike came first as i got my bike licence by DAS as soon as I was 21 but for my sins I'm more driver than rider now .

Car gets used for the boring stuff and the Bike comes out just for fun.

Have to run a car for work.
Bikes came first, then a car for ages, now lucky enough to be able to run both......just
However, there is some major work coming up needing doing on the car, anyone want a challenge? *laughing*

Hmmn... three cars at the moment and trying to resist a fourth (nowhere to put it). But then, as I drive around 50,000 miles pa, I guess I need 'em. I do have three bikes though - does that make up for it?

I started with a Ped (in the days of Mod and Rockers!!-) Used my dads car initially. But have allways had a car even when I had bikes. Ted only ever had bikes - and got his first car about 5 years ago. Now no bikes, so I have my Nissan C + C (Hair dressers car- I am told) and Ted has what was my old Golf that we had from a year old.

technically i only own bikes, however i have been driving cars for over 13 years. sold my road car and fund car, both mr2's one n/a one turbo quite a few years ago to fund my bike liscence and bike... I ride 24/7 no matter the weather, use the bike for my job. occasionally borrow the wifes car if i need carrying capacity , and tend to do the driving if we go out with the littlun...

I learnt to ride a bike waaaaay before I learnt to drive, Ive been riding for about 15 years and only driving for about 4. I learnt to drive in my 20s but never got around to getting a car because I loved my bike so much and took it everywhere and couldnt imagine the need for a car. Now I have my car and I love driving but Im a biker through and through. As the slogan says: 4 wheels moves the body but 2 wheels moves the soul! And as for the car, it has to be a convertible, there is no way I can go from the openness of a bike to a completely closed car and even in the winter, I drive with the top down :)

Bike license at 21 - clean sheet with a days training, Car test at 32 with 1 minor.

I'm with Ducky, if it's got an engine and you can make it perform beyond its design then it's all good!
Always a biker first and as I used to ride upwards of 18k miles a year just for kicks I'll stand by that.
