before the final purchase of my bike the dealer fitted a set of predator downpipes ( slightly larger bore than originals and stainless ) and collector box also stainless ....now although they look the nuts the fit isnt what id call snug but does not allow for gaskets ....this creates a ticking noise from leaking joints and paste doesnt appear to solve it ( as per thier fitting instructions) ......any ideas other than selling a kidney for a new system?

Take it back to the Dealer, shout at him loudly, preferably in the Showroom, until he fixes the problem.

Yeah what Rob said. Any exhaust system should fit snugly against the cylinder head with the correct sealing gasket NOT paste. If it doesn't, there's something wrong! Maybe the fixings at the back are stopping the headers sealing properly. If the headers don't seal snugly and gas tight into the collector, they have been fitted or made incorrectly. Same goes for the silencer and support bracket. You shouldn't need any paste. Take it back to the dealer and get it done properly or have them fit an original system that doesn't leak.
If you have no joy with the dealer, bring it down to my place and we'll try n sort it for ya!
Can you use a bigger font? My old eyes can hardly read it!!!!

the problem is not between the headers and the port its where the headers join to the collector box
