What Made Me Smile today ...........................????

Shopping was just delivered by a really cheerful guy, not just smiles and sir /madam like. But actually happy, jovial and in a good mood.

working out why my bike had problems starting.. the fuse holder thats attached to the battery was loose... a simple squeeze on the contact and it fires up everytime now, nice and easy

 

Nice one ... Feels great when you successfully diagnose and repair a problem, as you know. Things like that just take a little thinking about and proding into dark tight spaces...Ooo err missus..

 

Watching Batman from the early 1970's (?) on ITV4 right now

 

Also, I jsut reserved my place on another Ring (training) trip in August

 

What do you think of this for idea workable or not?

 

depends...does it mean if you go too slow he will shoot you in the arse ?

Driving around the Peaks on some amazing twistyroads around Holmfirth & promising myself to bring the SD on a trailer when I come back in the Spring.

 

The original film was on a few weeks ago, made me laugh! The joker, ridler, penguin (best ever) and catwoman...Mmmmm, catwoman...Now that brings back some adolesent memories.....

 

Finally interviewing someone who is going to make a perfect support worker to join the team! Commonsense AND a sense of humour!!!

 

Woohooo! Wife out for a few hours, daughter round her boyfriends, house to self....Must be time to watch the A team again

Not sure if this is a "what made me smile" thing or more of a "well I'll be f***ed" thing, but here goes.......
Was talking to an ex copper today.....I asked him why he had only lasted four years in the force. His answer was.....and this is an abridged version. ....... that he had got sick and tired of the having to meet quotas.....one time being told in a briefing that they were going to be stopping red cars mainly. This freaking gobsmacked me, because I thought that was just a myth. He THEN went on to tell me, that if quotas were not reached you got a disciplinary . Apparently (and I am sure coppers on here....if there are any *cough*, will be sure to jump up and state something different) there are an awful lot of our boys in blue who are very disheartened and jaded *shock, horror* and only stay for the pension.....one mate of his has been a copper for 33 years.....for 32 of them he has only been there for the pension......I await the bombardment of errr......response.
Anyhoo, it did make me grin, so I guess it does qualify for on this thread.
