A few weeks ago i met megawatt (Alan) and we was talking about bikes and what i'd like to change and so on and i said i'd like to get rid of the rear foot rests but the brackets are ridiculously expensive £40+ and he said he could make me one, so a quick ride to his and we got all the measurements and what do you know he had it made and ready, it took him around a week to get the time/materials to do it and only an hour to make it!

It made from stainless steel and fits perfect! i'm really happy with how its come up and he done a really good price, the only thing that is undecided is whether to get it black or polished, whats peoples views on this? also i could get holes drilled into it later but again im not sure how this will look so views and suggestions would be welcome and i would 100% recommend him to anyone, i will probably end up going back to him to get an exhaust made as i'm so happy with the product, really cleaned up the back of the bike.

Heres some pictures before and after

I also purchased an integrated Tail light from Custom LED well... it was a group buy in a forum but still thats where its from, it took around a month and half to get here though but it felt like forever!! :p im not to surprised though as there was a few problems with shipping international and waiting for the group buy to end and all sorts...

im really happy with it though looks really good and what i like about it is when you press the break it will strobe three times (can be programmed to do more or different sequences) and then be a solid break light and i've been told buy a friend riding behind it really draws attention to when you breaking which is always a good thing! the indicators are really clear as well apparently, i'd love to see it in action but its a bit hard to ride and then see whats happening on the back of your bike :p

But here we go more pictures!!

What do you think about the bracket getting it in black or with holes?

I`d definitely go for black if it was my bike mate. Still undecided about holes though. I suppose it would depend on the hole pattern I guess.

Yeah i cant decide about the holes.. and im thinking i will probably go with black but its just getting the same colour as the frame (obvious black but it looks a bit grey) and getting it so it will be heat resistant as that exhaust gets really hot really quickly and so does the bracket towards the bottom

I used stove paint on casings when I had the dodgy chrome on the Dragstar. Do they do a gloss one?

I was actually thinking matt black though as the actual frame isnt shiny or glossy what ever the right word is!!

Looks very smart indeed. My choice would be black; I haven't seen a single vote for anything else so I guess SECB is pretty clear in its opinion. MegaPerson does seem to know what he's doing with fabrication; and there are several others who are handy with the spanners and spray nozzles on the site too. You are in luck!

There is a wealth of knowledge & practical help on here Jack that, believe it or not, does balance out the the amount of comedy replies & pish-taking. In short, you will eventually get a sensible answer... one day! :D

I can rough up the stainless as not much will stick to it. We can look into insulating the bracket from the exhaust and possibly using a high temperature satin spray on it???
