Getting home to find a letter telling me the landlord is putting the house up for sale and I'm to leave by the end of June. Oh joy.

I really hate moving, with a passion. I'd wanted to stay here until I bought a place next year. I also have no idea where to move to. Grrr...

cheers mate, it looks like i will be trailer trash in Essex, i'm hoping the bank will give me a chance to sell the house rather than them taking it and putting it up for auction but we will see.

Any chance of developing a debilitating illness before turfing out time? You can then go to your local council and I would guess they have an obligation to house you and quickly. Actually, don't they have an obligation to house you anyway? It may not be your local neighbourhood, but it will be in the council's bailiwick somewhere. Have you tried the route of writing to the bank and offering repayments at a slower rate than originally agreed (and then taking their answer to a Citizens Advice lawyer)?

I am sure it isn't easy and it sure won't be pleasant, but it seems that there are some who are able to hang on and hang on for ever, often going to Court and being able to offer some plea in mitigation and the lender has to back off or allow more time.

How about the Union representative of your old firm? He or she may have access to a street-wise legal goat who knows all the moves you'll need?

thanks all, yeah Panel man i'm getting advice and hope to hang it out a bit to get sorted, my wife has long term illness so could use that for time but in the end we will be out which won't be a bad thing in some ways.
i'm more than happy to offer something i'm not one that doesn't want to pay my way, i'm just not in the same financial position as i was but that's life, i'm not a worrier and take things as they come, i believe that there is always somebody worse off than i am, and you have to make the most of the good times in life :MC:
