Yodel was featured on Anne Robinsons show
Their "operatives" were seen to throw the parcel over a 6 foot fence (lcd screen) and then post a card through the door, they didnt bother to knock apparently thats the standard service!

Wonderful, luck it's just a laptop then...

In the meantime I thought I'd ask their higher up's what the deal was:

    "Dear sir/madam

I wish to know the status, whereabouts and cause of delay in the arrival of my parcel due for delivery today.
I checked your system at lunchtime today and noted that the parcel was marked 'out for delivery' thus have canceled my plans and spent the last 7 hours waiting for a courier that has not arrived.

Finally in frustration, after having no possibility to speak to a human operator on your phone system which constantly informs me that someone will be with me shortly but so far after a total of 40minutes of call time, not been. I am now contacting you here.
The status of the parcel has now changed to 'unable to locate', while I can appreciate that in this day and age of satelite navigation, GPS and mobile phones, it may on occasion be difficult to find a clearly marked address in a numerically ascending line of properties in an easily accessible road, one which your staff have delivered to on many occasions, my questions are, when should I expect to see my parcel, if it was apparently impossible to locate my home once, how is it planned to do so in the next attempt and why was I not called directly to guide your driver in to his destination, should the buffet of electronic devices at his disposal fail to provide accurate information?

While I appreciate that you, yourself are not to blame for this fiasco I am sure that you can understand my frustration of having spent many hours waiting around pointlessly when I could have been gainfully employed elsewhere.
The reference number is in the title of this email and my contact number should you or a lost driver wish to talk to me is 077********.

I look forward to receiving my parcel and in fact knowing promptly when that may be."

When I work from home I regularly got Yodel 'missed you' cards through the letterbox without the door bell being rung.

We were missing so many packages (wife and daughter are teachers and buy loads of stuff for themselves and school online) that I have taken out a pane of glass in the garage door and made a flap about 12" square that smaller parcels can be put through. They drop into a box on the other side that has 3" foam padding. Has greatly reduced non-deliveries or expensive things being left on the doorstep. :)

See, funny you should say that. I have a purpose build cupboard next to my door that would hold several small children (not that I've tried or had any delivered), this is apparently a case of it was too difficult to follow the ascending numbers on the buildings until they found the right one.

my usually straight up no nonsense car MOT centre obviously circumming to the pressures of the recession.
last saturday car booked in for mot ...it failed ....last hanger on the tail section of the exhaust had broken free of the exhaust itself ...ok fair play i accept that ...dont worry mate we can weld a new bracket on ( i check the solidity of the exhaust for accepting welding and its fine its the actuall bracket thats broken) OK lets do that,
1 side light not working ...its a F8ckin volvo the headlights are always on dipped beam which tottaly outshines the tiny sidelight wqithin the headlight casing but......yup the book says its a fail and im happy to accept the guy has to do his job, annnnd the handbrake fails miserably ..yeah i figured it would i knew it was shit but its an auto and PARK has worked fine for now , its probably going to be the friction surface itself delaminated from the metal shoe ....yup sounds feasible ....new shoes required .....now ok i coulda done the shoes meself and the sidelights but i dont have anything delicate enough to weld the exhaust and if i let then do the work i dont repay the test fee.....ok how much ......hmmmm lets see 40 for the test , 80 for the shoes inc labour 30 for the exhaust inc labour dont owrry about the lamps they will be a couple of quid we just do them anyway ,itll be about £150 .....bleuuurgh ....ok well the ticket runs out midweek im going to be too busy to get it back and dont fancy paying the 40 quid test fee twice so ill leave it with you and call me when its done.
Get a call today ...(them) cars ready .....(me) great ...(them) yeah its £180 ......(me) no its 150 quid .......(them)oh no sir its £180 we estimated £160 but the exhaust took longer than expected ...(me) yeah ok whatever...you stated to me £150 but whatever ....gets a lift down there and when they produce the bill its actually £188.95 .......(me) Ere mate do you want me to turn around and walk out and come back in.....maybe you could bump that up to £200 without me noticing or caring.......(him) Eh?.......dont matter forget it ...pay the bill and collect the car..........handbrake ...yup thats good ...sidelights yup them too ....exhaust ......WTF ......a 6inch long peice of 8mm threaded studding bent to shape and welded to the tail pipe as per the previous peice ........really???? thats the best you can do for a stainless steel exhaust system ???? Ya know what?.......been going there for years and never had a problem...always spot on honest,
even while i was there they had a guy on the phone argueing his bill .......shant be using them again.
