Off another forum, I read an article on using foam to loosen and lift dirt. Whilst the article was shown using a pressure washer, I read the foam could be used with pump bottles. Great, thinks I. I don't have a hose but can use a pump bottle, so ordered some snow foam.

First use and I was disappointed. It did lift the dirt better than a bucket and sponge had done but I was disappointed it did not foam very well and certainly didn't hold on to the bike for very long.

Anyone out there who can give me some tips on using snow foam and pump bottles please?

    Many thanks,

The man who does or has used it is Ducky i think. Ive used Sdoc sumthing or other which i thought was excellent. But then i lost one of my R&G stickers of a crash bung, then the other. Then the sole of my trainers curled up and peeled off. Then my numberplate (stuck on with doublesided tape ) fell of somewhere near Petersfield..

I think it was Ducky who did the post on the other forum... Seems there is some history between forums and people moving about?

I can't leave the rain to do its work - it's new and sponsored, so has to attend events looking nice and sparkly. Given a choice, I would use rain and a sponge maybe once a month...

Yes most excellent post by Ducky on an old forum - ksb, 'My Cleaning Regime'. As an old school biker i used hot water and washing up liquid. But not any more thanks to Chris.

Panel, yup feel free to pull what u can off dude as I no longer have access. Team_husky, you really need a Pressure washer and foam lance if you want the nice bubbles, just using a sprayer or hosepipe on its own wont be enough.

I'll be needing a new home first... The combination mix did work well but just didn't stick as I would've liked. I'll have to bring it over and you can show me how it should be done! :D

Ducky - don't mention pressure washers. The last time I did, it started off a whole debate about the dangers of using them on bikes! Needless to say, I still use mine. :)

I never knew there could be so much discussion about nice bubbles and stickiness to the bike!!! LOL

I'm part of the party that washes my boy with the rain (although did wash him for the first time on Sunday for his sale)!

Well, I only stood near Kev's bike & the soles fell off my boots.

Found out how to get good foam/bubbles from a pump bottle. Less than half fill it, pump, give it a really really good shake, then turn upside down/on its side and then spray. Keep shaking etc., and you get some really good sticky foam. Works a treat!

    (thought I would share)

    Sorry...
