SAT 25th AUGUST Central Kent Rideout

Should have written SAT 25th AUGUST in the title.

Ok, as the weather on Saturday is looking 'reasonable' (maybe a small chance of a shower, but hardly enough to get the roads wet), let's make this rideout a definite.

Meet at Maidstone Services (J8 M20) at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure. If you miss us, you can intercept the route by joining at the Airport Cafe off J11 about 40 mins later (probably at about 11:15 ish), but to be honest you'd have missed the best part of the ride if that happened

Route as per map (I'm not sure if I've amended the written route properly, so use the blue line instead) via Charing / Challock / Chilham / Stone Street / Sandling / Airport Cafe. Then onto a route as suggested by Ashley's Dad via Bethersden / Pluckley / Lashenden / Sissinghurst where we can all break off for our seperate routes onwards. I don't know this second section at all, so if someone is more familiar, perhaps they can direct?

I'll print off a couple of maps with pace notes for those who don't have loadable GPS. Once I've figured out how, I'll try to create a downloadable GPX file. Oh and we'll use 'second man drop off', but only if we have to (!) and I don't feel the need to lead the pack - we can all take turns (since this is nice for some slower riders to experience).

Probably best to fuel-up at the services.

Can anyone who is planning on coming please let me know by posting your name in the thread (just so that we know who we'll be waiting for at the services). Quite a few of you have my number, so no worries there. If anyone who's planning on coming has a video camera, can they bring it please? Thanks.

Sorry not about this day, on a stag day in Northampton, racing in some super stocks or banger racing for the day, should be interesting :)

SORRY PEOPLE - CANCELLING THIS. Looks like I'm the only one who's going (plus Dean as a 'maybe'). So due to the low response, we'll reschedule for another time as quite a few people are away on holidays.

Would have liked to have done this one, know some of the roads, and not a huge distance to the meeting point, but got a trapped nerve in my neck that sends excruciating pain down my arm when I ride at the moment. Still have to ride to work, but not going far for pleasure at the moment.

Jeesh - that's not good. Hope you're sorted soon. I've been having physio for mine and it's so much better. Who'd have thought that compressing the top of my rib cage would help my neck? Bloody quacks.

Will definitely get this run sorted for another time. What would people prefer - a Saturday or a Sunday. As a 'normal' person, I don't work on weekends (although TBH, I try not to work too much during the week either).

Ride it?? I have been. Racked up 450 miles this week alone. Another on / off road group rideout next weekend and a nice trail /enduro event on the 16th (Salisbury Plain).

I'm not sulking, I've just stepped back from some of the BS on here.
