The only thing that do worries me is my bike is over 18 years old and I've only had it for few weeks so not know too much about it just yet. But I think I will just have to get out there and do it, rather than think about it too much. It will be an adventure :)

I reckon you're right. Mine is off to have a very thorough service and check over this morning, by H M Racing, so that it's ready for my riding holiday in France. Apart from that got basic tools, a spare clutch and throttle cable and a puncture repair kit. Oh, and of course, duct tape and cable ties!!! Lol

Had a look at it online but soz cant help with this Alec. I dont know anyone who has been. So your heading into uncharted territory as far as were concerned which makes it a BiG Adventure in my book.

Might be worth checking out horizons unlimited or visordown. Bound to be someone who has been there

Don't forget all that extra French bits n bobs u need whilst riding over there...not sure how picky they are on helmet reflective stickers...but you can bet they like targeting GB plates for all the other stuff...

And so I made it to Brno MotoGP and back in 6 days on my £700 Ebay purchase!!!
Had 2 breakdowns (bike that is, although I nearly did too LoL) 1st one 3 miles from Eurotunnel on day 1 and RAC fixed it. 2 nd one in Germany on 2nd day when a float needle in one of the carbs was jammed open causing petrol to p... out of overflow pipes. Fixed this one myself by stripping the bike and all the carbs on the hard shoulder of a very busy German motorway....that was hairy! LoL. Bike and I were fine after that.
Had to use motorways mostly but did found some amazing roads and scenery near Aachen, Germany and near Brno itself . Also met some very interesting people along the way.:disco:

Hey Leila, Does the layout of this part of Brno track ,reminds you of a track not too far away from home??? Even the elevations were similar ;)

Just shows you don't really needs the lastest & greatest to do this! I humbled a few on my journey. Then again I was humbled by a rider 2 up on an early 80s GS (I think) riding around the outside of me! LoL

Hahaha.... yes. Sometimes you can plan and make all the preps but things can still go wrong. The way I sees it, the breadowns added to the overall adventure
