:mad:read the story of this biker who has been banned for riding passed a horse at over 104mph and then watch the video.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...tearing-past-girl-horse-104mph-Yorkshire.html

he slows do massively as soon as he see the horse and rider. Nearly looks like he even gives a nod to her, he can't be doing much over 40mph by the end and yet the story makes it sound like he went passed without slowing. fcuking press and their twisting of facts.

You come over the brow of a hill and see a horse and rider and you

A slam your brakes on risking locking the tyres thus freaking the horse?
B you pull the clutch to cut engine noise and slow as quickly as is safe to do so. ( like in the video )
C you stop cut the horses head off and place it in the bed of the daily mails editor ?

Never see any positive stories about bikers such as all of the charity stuff like the easter egg run etc...

and the story here is ......the reporting ...ok he was speeding ...got caught....hands up chin out and accept whats coming ......end of ......
someone somewhere saw the oppertunity to dramatise it beyond what it was and it probably started with the reporting officer stating that had the occurance happened a little later then the motorcyclist wouldnt have had time to take the course of action he did ....slow down clutch in etc etc ...the press see that as an excuse to escalate it what could have been rather than what was ....knowing that because of the outcry of speeding and getting caught on camera no one will ever be held accountable for false reporting.
one rule of justice for one and one rule for another it seems.
i think the reporter and the paper should be charged with liable and fraud and made an examlpe of to send a message out to all others......" sure report the facts......but taint them at your peril.

Ok so a couple of bikers out for a spirited ride max out at an illegal but not exactly reckless 104mph and then spot the horse and rider..... Both showed appropriate control of bike to slow down and pass in an appropriate manner.... I really don't see the problem and a speeding ticket or court visit for over 100mph should be the only conclusion.

Technically though it is a ban if over 100mph. The Press is the biggest cause of grief these days over hyping everything, My GF hates cyclists the most, she gets real angry with them shouting at them to warn they are approaching, they ride up no sound, no warning, go flying pass down single track roads that has far more chance of spooking a horse than a MC making a noise in the distance.

My girlfriend says the same about cyclists because they can't see or hear them coming.
