I am paranoid, and like a challenge, and the challenge is:- the best way to secure a bike, to a concrete floor with Brick wall around it? I know if someone really wants to steal it they will with a Grinder and cut through want ever, but I want to make it as hard as possible and for it to take them as long as possible to make them think twice.

I have had all these ideas in my head:-

Chain and padlock, they pick up bike and put in van, fix the chain to the floor some how, if the chain is big enough raw blots (Bash ends over so cannot unscrew, etc. a pain to fit and still not to hard to rip out of the floor.

So fixing chain and padlock, I think the cheapest way is to concrete the chain in, a pretty cheap way really, 2 small concrete blocks front and rear. (sand and cement) with steel rods, and loop the chain through the rods as well.

My favorite is marine chain like 30mm links, cemented into blocks looped with a few padlocks to fit 3 places around bike etc. The Marine Chain 2nd hand is not overly expensive, but transport is [IMG] But prob the most inconvenient way for anyone to steal your bike.

I am surprised that no company has made a floor stand mount that clamps around your side stand, park on it, and some flap plate goes over your side stand and padlocked closed to the floor.

    Other ideas????

Ducati side stands are alloy and can be easily broken, hell they've been known to snap with just the bike leaning on them! Lol

Use one of these. Easy to fit and as good as a different type I have with four bolts (which is harder to fit because you can't drill four holes in concrete with precision). However, when drilling this one, have a second person squirt water on the drill bit continuously, AND keep stopping to cool the bit with further water. Otherwise the bit will go blunt.

For a chain I use a Oxford Hardcore XL (suggest at least 1.5m).

thats cheap  i just cant be arsed in digging the hole to sink something into. but then my bike takes 5 mins to park in it's daily place and 10 mins in the place for storage if i'm not about, add that to a few chains two gates with padlocks an alarm and there aren't many who will risk taking that long to get your bike

2 heavy interlinked chains/padlocks around the bike, steel main garage doors & frame (wooden clad) with inner padlocked deadbolts, steel mesh beneath roof slates, dedicated movement sensor & door alarms, outside IR CCTV, baby monitor link to the bedroom, short heavy club by the backdoor & a petrol chainsaw that starts every pull. If I get hold of them theres some long heavy cable ties to hold them until/if plod arrives. Oh yeah, & I back a car up to the doors too. Only thing missing is a dog in there. OTT? Yeah probably:(. Just remembered theres one of those blank cartridge firing devices on the side door which I got banned from using after it went off in some girl's face by mistake.

Tom not gonna dig a hole, gonna drill some small ones, and drop some re-enforcing rods, and more in the concrete slab I am gonna make with the chain in it in the corner of my garage. 2 off one in a corner, and another next to a pillar, so not effecting anything in the garage.

Les. after seeing you drooling over those bikes last Saturday, the 675's in disguise, and then riding down the motorway, lol, even I did not get that part, me thinks maybe once upon a time you might have another decent bike one day :p

Put metal plates in a square all around your bike. Put bike in the middle, electrify said plates.
