Bike Show @ NEC 24th Nov to 2nd Dec

Any of you good folks attending this year ?

 

Not I. Went for first time last year with a group from here organised by Steve D (btw anyone heard from him of late?) bought loads but was a bit disappointed with the lack of machinery on display.

 

I want to look at the new KTM 1190 as i intend to flog my Triumph Explorer , any one on here had a KTM 990 supermoto tourer ? or a KTM ? good or bad experience ?

 

Besides Finchy who has a nice 990 Adventure I think it's just me. Had an SD 990 from new ('07) until this summer (also several others inc 640 sm, 450 enduro & now the 2010 690 Duke3) & love the KTM ethos of being a bit off the wall/lively. Build quality & off-road pedigree is 1st class but like most they're not completely without probs. Personally I had no trouble with any of mine other than reg/rect on the SD.

He had a rough year work wise i believe and i have contacted him regarding meets but he is always playing with his band if he enjoys it why not i say , i will tell him to visit this site next time we have a chat on the phone. we are going to the show on Sunday the 25th what about you folks (only allowed out of Norfolk on Sundays)

 

cheers they seem to get a good press. But its the reliability that bothers me but every one ive spoken too say they have had very little problems with their KTM ? so it could be out with the Chinese Triumph and in with the Austrian orange

 

I am away from 4th to Tues 20th - so will hope I have access whilst away to keep tabs on this x

I'm going on the 27th. Just out of interest, why are you parting with the Explorer after such a short time?

 

Hoping to go up Saturday 1st, meet some mates for beer and curry, cheap motel then NEC on Sunday 2nd.

 

Taking my duaghter out to Thailand with me - where my sons lives , so she can see him and meet his mates and drink in his bar -- I will probbaly just sit outside lol -Where you off ? not the Broads ? lol

 

I would like to go, just cant be assed to drive all that way

Just had loads of niggles with it but nothing major, i also have a new 800xc and i love it to bits but the explorer is just to good isuppose ? it takes me for a ride ! i like a bit of a rough edged bike with a bit of character the EX is good at what it does but my 800xc leaves me grinning from ear to ear every time i go out on it and you can wring its neck and have fun but the ex just goes from a to b but not with a smile ! i think a KTM will give me more fun

 

No a spa hotel in the lake district for a chillax , you will miss the cold and wet of the GB enjoy you lucky b****

 

the fecking forecast atm is rain foir first 5 days but tempo is 33 so all not soo bad xxx

 

Me and a mate will be there on the 2nd
