The easiest earplugs to use. Also washable and last four months.
Howard Leight Quiet Ear Plugs (FREE UK P&P)

    ebaycharger2.JPG
Battery charger for use on trackdays etc. to charge from the car/van if no 240v available (worked very well at Cadwell).

    Paddock.jpg
Convertible front or rear paddock stand. Not shown in the picture is an additional piece you get to convert it for front wheel use. Different attachments mean you can use it for road bikes, track bikes and the wife.

    ebay camera.jpg
Reasonable quality, yet cheap, video camera. Easily mounted to bike with velcro supplied. Waterproof (see below). Comes in wide angle 120 degree, or narrow 60 degree. 120 if you want the scenery, 60 is better for trackdays.

Battery charger definitely a good idea. Especially with my total loss bike! Do like the cameras too. Will have to get one after having had a go with yours on my bike :)

Velcro is very good. Holds the camera firm - any shake in the video is the fairing vibration. Makes it very easy to take camera off between runs. 20 minute trackday session uses about 2gb. Battery lasts 2-3 hours, but I stick it on a car USB charger between runs. Obviously I have two - one front, one rear.

I also have some bad eBay buys, but I don't own up to them :(

Yeah it would be good if you could get some different mounts so you could have it on like the side of the fairings like with a suction cup or something similar to that but the battery lasting even that long seems pretty good to me

One of the reasons many use go pros. the mounting variations are good

I think you will find the reason for Go Pros is the quality, albeit at at least five times the price. The mountings are poor.

JimG the mountings on the go pros are excellent as is the quality and a remote mic, the housing etc. there are reasons to why they are a lot more expensive. I guess if you want 3 cameras on a bike it can add up :(

This weeks gadget show had a test of action cameras. the go-pro 2 was the cheapest of the bunch but also got the best scores. I think you can get it on channel 5`s catchup service if you missed it.

I do like the look of go pros but the price is one thing i dont like the look of, think i just need a new job which pays better! do you think you could use the car suction mount on the side fairing of a bike? not to sure if it'd hold but maybe a possibility..

Two riders using Go Pros on the fronts of their bikes at Cadwell at the weekend were refused access to the track until they removed them. Expensive way to not get any video. Given that cameras on track bikes get knocked off, fall off and suffer from vibration I much prefer a £40 import I don't mind getting broken. I put it on the list because I have had good experience of actually using it!

Go Pros are unbreakable :) wonder why they had to be removed, they did not want any evidence of crashes, as it is evidence? on the Nurburgring, they will make anyone remove any for mf video equipment if they see it when you go through the barrier.

You can buy lots of different mounting solutions for the type of camera Jim has that will allow it to be mounted wherever you want including suction mounts to attach to the fairing.

i think, most tracks don't like gro pros, or any item that can potentially come flying off at a large rate of knots...
