Somewhat Surprised that no one has posted about HOW great the new David Bowie Single / Video is, Lets face it pretty well all of these Forums Users are from His Era.

I am Sure there are a Load of David Bowie Fans on here who would state it is fantastic, still his old self, Mis guided (SOLES) Souls you all must be.

Me Personally, Boring Keith Lemon Video Copy, Song is all about Me. I guess His pension Fund must be running low, so needed another added injection from the Itunes pension fund to last him a few more years.

Me Bitter, NAAAA, just fed up with with people's general view OHHHHH it is David Bowie it must be good.

No real opinion about this. Its ok I suppose, bit dreary/bland perhaps but I doubt he's in need of the income.

 

I totally agree - it's f*cking awful and I can't understand what all of the hype is about. At least the 'Stones manage to inject a little energy into their new tracks, allbeit via various forms of medication.

The new Bowie track is just lazy - wandering lyrics, mumbled into a mike by an old bloke who sounds like he really can't be bothered. As for the video? WTF??? If anyone else had plopped out something like this, we'd think it was a parody.

A has been, ironic as well, his single now has been banned from the charts, it is that bad naa he was giving it away for free if you ordered the album hence false sales.

 

Not sure about the new song, need a few listens, but Bowie is one of the all time greats. Listen to any number of his albums such as Scary Monsters, Diamond Dogs, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust. A musical genius.

 

yeah looks like they back tracked the ban "David Bowie's comeback single, Where Are We Now?, will be eligible for this Sunday's UK charts, despite reports that the Official Charts Company had ruled it out of contention." gah another no 1 I guess on a name and not the quality.

 

I may be cynical, but I think that someone's created a story about this free / paid download issue purely to cover the fact that no-one on their right mind actually wants this track... and that's the real reason that it won't appear highly in the charts. If it was released as a single on CD, we'd be seeing it in the bargain-bin already.

 

I am guessing it will get to number 1, just shows the shallow world we live in today.

All ready topped Itunes chart, pretty well for gone conclusion

 

I can't believe people are talking about a Bowie single in such derogatory terms, as if it were an X-factor song or something! The guy's pure class. Only heard the song once so can't judge it yet, but to talk about him in the way you guys are seems weird to me. I mean, he's a proper songwriter and musician, not the latest flavour of the month celeb!

 

I agree he has produced many great songs and lots more even in the film world, but this is the point just because he is your god, does it mean this song is god like? to everyone? it certainly is not to me

 

I'm not saying that, necessarily, but I just found the attitude strange in that he seemed to be accused of getting the same sort of hype that every no-talent pretty boy/girl gets, whereas he is a different kettle of fish.

 

Granted, Bowie was one of our best musicians, ever. But saying that his latest attempt is something special simply because he wrote / sang it kind of misses the point of music altogether. It's a bit like saying that Honour Blackman is still f*ckable because she was pretty hot 40 years ago. I'll pass thanks... although I'm sure that some people are into that kind of thing .
