Ignition barrel security bolt removal

    Just got myself a new set of handlebars as i really do struggle now with the r1's riding position. the problem is the ignition barrel is held in place by snap off head bolts. whats the easiest and cheapest way to remove these bolts?

    Get a new bike with a better riding position?

    I'm useless at this stuff....sorry mate. I'll leave it up to Mega to guide you lol

    Lol. that thought had crossed my mind in all honesty but my bike is bought and paid for so why burden myself with yet more debt just for the sake of a few hours drilling?

    Get a 1/8" Cobalt drill mate, centre pop the bolts and drill all the way through. Then use bigger drills until just smaller than the core diameter of the security bolts. Then use a file tang , tapped into the hole to undo the bolt. Or ride it up here and I'll do it for ya;)
