    Does anyone here know someone who could do some car paintwork for reasonable / mates rates?

    I need the side of one of ours doing (an old key scratch which I've now made worse by trying (and failing) to buff it out :mad: ) and some bodywork & paint on the other (courtesy of partially-sighted wife :rolleyes:).

    Ideas on a postcard please.

    Thanks Tom - that'd be great! TBH it's not a massive job, it's just way beyond my ability!

    Finchy, if you haven't found anybody, PM me details of Car make and model, age, colour (paint code would help identify the exact colour) extent of damage and I'll see if anyone can give me a price, although it's hard to find anyone wanting to do mates rates nowadays and dependent on the work involved it may be cheaper to use one of the many smart repair vans that come to your house.

    he is repairing and respraying the the 3 parts of my track fairings for 120, black or white is always cheaper due to him having plenty stock of common paint

    Change of plan in the end. Had a 'Smart Repair' company come and do the work at home instead. I can't get over how good the finish is - really high quality work! Less than half the price of a paint-shop and all done in under four hours (including a 2K lacquer, cut & polish). Bargain! I really would recommend these guys, without question, so if you have any car-park dents, paint scratches, annoying little marks etc; give them a call. Oh and yes, bikes are no problem... and no, I don't work for them.

    Company's called 'Touch Ups Ltd'. Shaun is the owner, but Steve was the technician here. 07771 621 769

    Here are a few pics;

    How it looked before:
    One of my bodged repairs when I'd rubbed right through the paint;

    This key scratch spanned three (and a bit) panels, right from the door mirror to the rear arch;

    Er, I can see them as well. Which is pretty amazing in itself. Great pictures, may I say, and a super ad for Touch Ups! 'Prupperr Jaab' if I may say so. :)

    Anytime. Let me know when and I'll whiz over (on the condition that I can pilfer various cleaning type goodies from your garage ;)).
