    Guys,

Can anyone recommend good motorcycle trailers for me to look at? (web addresses, companies etc)?

I'm looking for a fairly heavy duty trailer that can hold 500kg across 2 bikes? (Tourer and a naked/sport)

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers
    Neil

That looks more HD than mine & I paid £700 last year for a 2 bike trailer but I specifically wanted strong but lightweight & larger than 10/12" wheels. Just realised:oops:, this was where I got it, the MC2.

look up motorbike rental trailers....i got mine under £500 for a three skinny bike trailer or what is really a two bike trailer. They are in good nick, also with weight/manufacturers plates on the chassis....lights on the back and also on the leading front corners aswell.

I got mine from winner trailers, but just looked at their website and they don't have ny second hands ones for sale at the moment.

I think JimG, also got his second hand from a bike trailer rental place too.

Yes - mine is an ex-rental Erde CH751. Is light, which leaves about 625kg for the load from the 750kg gross weight limit. Has 13" wheels which are much better for longer journeys than smaller wheels. Is also quite wide which gives stability. Has three channels, and will probably take three motocross bikes, but will only take two normal sports bikes.

If you are getting a trailer for two bikes I strongly recommend you get one with three channels. Not so you can carry three, but so when you only carry one it can be central on the trailer. :)

Hey guys how about setting up a scheme to rent out trailers to Forum users, bluudy expensive to buy and they are usually stuck besides the garage. Would love to use one but getting to a place that rents them and then hiking back with it is a pain, if members were local it would benefit all. Any idea's/feedback, at least those with trailers would be recouping dosh and helping us peeps with no room to store one.:cash:

I have a professionally built, galvanised, folding, heavy duty single bike trailer. And a one or two bike that I am modifying?

    Been thinking about getting this:-

    http://www.motolug.com/TE.php

Spoke to them a couple of months ago to see about a demo (build, dismantle, load & unload) and they said with notice they could do a demo on Saturday no problems. Phoned the other day and the lady said 'no demos'. I told her what they had said before and that I am phoning now to arrange a date in the diary for one Sat and she was like 'don't do demos at weekends....If you want it you'll have to come to the showroom midweek' in a really sharp way. I said "good sales" and hung up. I was spending nearly a grand (i know i know..sucker) so you would think you get a little customer service....Oh well...I'll have to think about another option (trailertek possibly).

The Motolug ones are good, i had the Bikelug7 (they rebranded to motolug a few years back), I would say you wont find a better folding trailer, but upgrade to the 10" wheels especially if you want the 2 bike one

does it really need to be a folding one ?

but yes if they won't be helpful before you part with any money how likely would they be to help once they have taken your money.

If they're so good I'd still go with it but would make a complaint about the woman when there.:(

im gonna give away an idea i had many moons ago.....shares if you make this and get rich.....apply some form of bar to the front of the bike that lifts it and locks the steering and has atowing hitch on the end and design like a rear axle you put under the rear wheel to make 2 wheels....therefore your bike becomes the frame of the trailer ....

they already do a towing hitch which just uses the rear wheel of the motorbike motorcycle-towing-trailers-4.jpg I guess it's ok for short distances , I followed one down the road not long ago. but could see it squaring off the rear tyre after a while if doing long distances. Very small and easy to store/use
