    I was once handed back an essay from a teacher that had the words "Why use one word when 20 will do?".

    It has been with me now for about 50 years and I have always tried to follow his reverse advice in that I will never use more words than I need to convey a message as I don't want to sound long winded or use language that is not succinct or to the point as I don't want to bore people as I think they should only have to read the relevant bits and not the ramblings of someone with verbal diarrhoea who should know better and really isn't adding anything to the discussion!!!

    i don't i got confussed who was behind me. check your mirrors on one bend and you are being followed by someone in a white and green lid on the next bend that person has been replaced with a red and white lidded rider :eek:
