A friend of a friend is over from OZ and would like to have a bike while over here. Hiring a bike is stupid money so i have suggested he either buys a bike and then sells it or hires one.

So does anyone either have a bike they would hire out or sell? ideally looking for something that will be good for touring. He currently has a VTR 800

he has even said he will do a bike swap so if anyone is planning on visiting OZ he will sort you out with his bike

i will most likely get him out on one of my bikes for a local run and can sort out meeting him but i have know my friend since she was born and this guy has known their family since well back in the day when wheels were still made of stone. :D

You can get short term or pay as you go insurance...don't know how much it would cost though...when I was learning to ride I bought a 125 off 1066 training with a guaranteed sell back price once I had passed, from memory they have bigger bikes such as Honda transalps that would be OK for touring, might be worth asking them.

It's the most versatile engine configuration available, has an upright and relaxed riding position with average seat height and isn't hindered by luggage because it's not got a piddly little 50bhp power output.

The only possible negative that I can see is lack of a screen but you could buy one of those.

And yes, it's definitely part of the experience :D

I found it most comfortable to lash it to my leg and tuck the end in my boot myself :p
