Word of warning - be very careful of European imported tyres.

They only work on the right hand side of the road :D

Two days in the beautiful City of Bath, swimming in the rooftop Thermae Bath Spa, tasty meals, Bath Ales and, the crowning glory, my son's graduation ceremony in Bath Abbey. He is now eligible to become a MICE (Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers). But don't worry, I'll post up all the building projects he's involved in  .

Even though it was only two days I feel like I've had a good long break.

Brilliant news: I hope I shall be in the same position next year since my son is about to enter his final year at Bath in Automotive Engineering. Tell your son 'Well done' from me too: I know it isn't an easy course!

I did the good Samaritan thing today on the M20 & ended up taking man & his broken Triumph home. Turns out he restores/fabricates mostly older bikes in Canterbury for Steelheart engineering who I hadn't heard of. We had a good chat on the way & he's done some interesting stuff shown on their website, so might be worth a look if you need bespoke single sided s/arms, frame mods/repairs or engine work in the Canterbury area.

I should have read this earlier, might have saved me but made me smile. I bought a Metzeler M5 yesterday for £80.00 shown as in stock from MyTyres...it is in stock in (you've guessed it) Germany wont be arriving until next week.

Mine came today so 4 days earlier than predicted. In the meantime I got one from Bower Lane tyres in Maidstone for £102 which is still well cheap.

Just turned off A2, onto south Circular, and waiting bottom of the slip road to turn right in the left hand lane next to a lorry, and a some sports bike came down the slip road, could hear it and he just sailed through the very narrow gap between my van and the lorry, as if it was 10 foot wide, and stopped at the lights, Scruffy old leathers on. He also turned right and I was impressed with his observation in all directions even on a green light, he opened her up, and as I went under the A2, the pedestrian lights went red and the bike had to stop quite quick, clearly only using the front brake and all his weight forward the rear wheel come up off the ground to about 45 degrees, it plopped down and he stopped. I was now alongside on the duel carriageway, and lights went green I opened my trusty Merc Sporster van up all 3 litres of V6 diesel twin stage Garret turbo and left him at the lights , only for him to pass me with his front wheel 45 degrees in the air, holding it there for 100 yards or so :) Nice Sunny day even I smiled at that :)

Overheard in doctors surgery today (which seems to be where old ladies go for a chat)

"My husband died about five years ago. But it was all right because I have a dog"
