    Do i go for a completely different style of fairing and get this

    What are the pro's and con's to changing it? like would it affect the re sale price etc and what are peoples past experiences..

    Personally, original fairings will always hold value in my opinion. After market or custom paint jobs are appealing to a much smaller group of riders. Whenever I see a non standard fairing, I think it's because the bike was damaged in the first place. If the bike damage was not recorded by the insurance company then I would try to keep it standard. Just my opinion.

    Yeah thats what i've been thinking, i didnt go through insurance so it wouldnt be recorded..

    i quite like the black and gold. You can keep your standard fairing and collect the damaged bits over time and change it back when your selling it.

    Tom has a great point there. Would be careful though , im sure cheap fairing tend to be a pain to fit.

    That is very true.. im tempted by the black and gold as it does have all of the gold calipers, chain, forks and the bit of gold on the hugger but then there is the point that it is CHEAP chinease fairing.. i dont know if it would be a pain as it should all line up as its the whole thing that would change and not just a pannel if you get me? i would imagine they would have issues trying to line up to an OEM one

    i know one guy who had cheap chinese fairings and he siad they were a prefect fit, something to do with the fact the chinese have a habit of using real stuff to create the moulds :rolleyes: but i'm sure it varies as to which stuff you buy.

    I have "cheap" chinese panels on my SP1 they were a doddle to fit, holes lined up, they are a bit thinner than the originals, they look fine/good, and some people say very good! I still have the original panels if I ever wanted to sell it (not likely though)

    I quite like the original partly because if the gold is not 'gold' looking enough it could look really cheap, but I always wanted a yellow GSXR! Oh and the wife say yellow too! :D

    cheers for all the response guys! If I was to get this thinking about it it would make sence to keep the original as well so when it does cone to selling I can change it back or give the option at least.. and keep an eye for the last side pannel..

    Re assuring to know about the fairing fitting okay..

    I think the gold would look alright due to the gold forks, callaprers, chain.. still no closer to making my mind up though! Not gunna rush into it I don't think though

    I quite like the gold, but don't forget that you'll need to source & paint a petrol tank to match... and that's the expensive part. I've often had two sets of panels for my bikes, but you have to be a little careful as officially you need to report colour changes to DVLA (for example, plod don't like a seeing a 'yellow Suzuki' appearing on their NPR, only for it to be 'black'. You will get pulled).

    Yeah I'd buy a second hand petrol tank and were I work they have welding place , paint, body works facilities so will go to them and get a cash deal. Yeah I'd probably tell the dvla of the change anyway, there's no downside to it is there?

    If you can get a tank sorted through work, there's no downside at all. A colour change will show up on the bike's history if someone does a search, so as some have said, this may affect it's value. Buyers will also want a standard bike, so you may also need to return the bike to original trim when you sell it (including another DVLA colour change to OEM).

    Thats what i've decided to do now :) black and gold is nice but i fell in love with the yellow which is the reason i bought her so im not gunna change it!
