Did anyone else see this idea? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24184734

Never mind the $2,000-odd it will cost to begin with (since prices will come down if it catches on). Do you think you'd get along with it?

For myself, I think I'd rather have a Sat Nav on the handlebars and rely primarily on the voice commands in my helmet, glancing down at the screen on occasion just to confirm what I'm hearing. I can't help but worry that the refocussing back and forth for a 'heads up' display and distinguishing it from the myriad shop lights, traffic signs and other signals would be too much for my poor little brain.

The alternative is to remain the Happy Wanderer, getting lost constantly, but finding really, really interesting new routes to places! I spend the money I save on buying a sat nav on petrol instead.

I think it's a brill idea been looking longingly at it for the last 6 months. Plenty of testing and comments on 'youtube.' Will quote, if a fighter pilot capable of mach 3 can use one on his screen, why the f88k can't a Biker. Must admit I agree, you could have the revs/gear/road speed and sat-nav all on one area, one even has a rear view camera to see the cagers about to impinge on your derrière.
Bring it on I say! More techno stuff to help us beat the bastids.:mdance:

"Impinge on your derrière" - Love it!

But a fighter pilot is a highly trained 20 - 35 year old; with the best will in the world, you would have to agree that I'm not! And I don't have your decades of gruelling aescetic yoging to replicate what modest observational skills and reactions I had back then.

Your skills won't get better if you don't get out, come on man how long is it since we did a ride-out, bout time for another me-thinks.
Lets get one goin before the bastid weather sets in, are you up for it?

Mentally? Yes. Physically? Sure. But can I find the time? :-(

Without giving the game away, I'm nearing a deal which I've worked towards for thirteen years and the latest part of which has eaten my weekends and evenings for the last three months. The worse thing is that if it works (sorry - when it works) and although I shall be able to hire boys and girls to help, I shall be deeply immersed for a couple of months more.

It's a great life if you don't weaken.

As for being 25 in my head, I'm right with you! Reet is Rong. If I had known then what I know now... Sheesh!;)

But I'll do my damdest to sneak in a quickie now and again! Er, ...as it were
