Me too. Looking forward to seeing what else has mysteriously vanished from 'Tonight's Specials'. "That's 'orf, Luv as well". If I wasn't so self-confident I'd be developing a complex

 

Good turnout for a cold night in March. Food was good - they even had what I wanted still on the menu. Just a real, real shame that that was the last night Blue Boys will be open. Possibility of a farewell bash on the 28th? Fingers crossed...

 

Could we appoint Jim and Dawn as official SECB inspectors to visit all the likely places in a 20 mile radius and report back, Michelin style?

He has started already and must have known for a few months this was coming...

Ps I'd volunteer to 'take one for the team', but (i) may not be sufficiently critical (I've not eaten a bad bacon sandwich yet), (ii) I view calories as friends (iii) I lack necessary mullah for a serious gustatory tour

Could you make that 20 miles our way, would cut the trip down to 40 miles one way. Then I could get Richard to buy me half a pint!

In light of this, the Halfway House at Brenchley was suggested last night, as the monthly meet so I volunteered to go have a look. Reviews online are good, it has a large car park, beer garden (swings for Smeg, even tho' his feet won't touch) & not too posh inside. The chef was up for it so I called later & spoke to the owner Richard Allen, who liked the idea, especially when Wednesdays were mentioned as I guess it quiet. Its 4 miles east of the BB so still fairly central (sorry Pat, only small step toward you). Address is Horsmonden rd, Brenchley, TN12 7AX. 01892 722526. Thoughts or alternatives or we could try it on 2nd Apr & take it from there? Oh yes, Richard, they serve real ale...even though you'll never find the place.

Been to Halfway house a few times and eaten there. gets my vote, if Les isn't there!!!
