Final Blueboys Meet. Friday 28/3/14

Unfortunately will not be able to make last Blue Boys meet due to last minute prep for Morocco trip. Please pass on my best wishes to the land lord and his better half for the future, hope things work out well for them.

I'll be riding up what time do people get there?

 

I think those who are closer start getting there from 6.30 , but its dependent on when they finish work.. the way things are looking im prob not gonna get away until 6 and dependent on method of transport it can take me anywhere from 45 minutes to just over an hour to get there so should be there around 7

 

People who are very, very hungry and get out early from work, 6pm. People who are not so hungry or are hungry and have work to do arrive at 7pm. Those who really aren't seriously hungry or who have a long way to come arrive at 7:05pm or afterwards. . Look forward to meeting you.

Woke up with a streaming cold, and although I am usually very generous, I have decided to keep my germs all to myself, so will not be going. Hope you all have a good evening.

 

We will raise a glass to you in absentia. And wish you a speedy recovery. We'll report back on the likely ingredients when the portions of Fridge Surprise are placed before us. Were you able to come, it is entirely possible that the warmed-through germs in the hot dishes tonight would knock your mere streaming cold germs for six. But, it's entirely up to you, of course

Gee, that was fun . Tradition was maintained for me up until the very last, since the steak 'n kiddley pie I ordered turned out to be 'orf Luv. Never mind, the Madras curry made up for it; nowhere near hot enough for my taste, but the flavours were excellent. As for the Spotted Dick - well: words (almost) fail me. If only there could have been skin on the custard. The nice ladies behind the bar dug out a couple of room temperature real ales and I was very happy.

I'm not sure about the volume at which the 70's music was played (puts on Grumpy Git Hat) because I couldn't hear what Leila was trying to shout at me. I am quite sure I misheard one part of it (if I didn't, Leila, please PM me ). Very decent turnout of people generally, although embarrassingly few of us were on bikes - well done Deano and welcome Annie! Hope you made it back to Hastings without too many night-time scares

I really, really hope Carol and Adrian (Blue Boys proprietors) find another berth nearby, since the combination of reasonably priced decent food and drink is rare. Carol did mention something about opening their front garden once a month for a BBQ-style thing - Paul? She has your contact details, doesn't she?
