I'm still looking forward to my Christmas dinner. I'm cooking it tomorrow. We didn't have it yesterday because I was working. The only good thing about it was I got to ride my bike on Christmas Day, which should have been my chance to see what the top speed on my replacement Striple was as I was expecting a good, clear road home with nobody to spoil it. How wrong could I be? It rained hard and even if it had stayed dry there were cars everywhere. Almost as many as a normal commute home.
But never mind. I had a good day and brilliant presents. Accessengineer and my sons had gone to some trouble to find replacement bling that we didn't manage to take off the old bike before the insurance company took it away, so it's on it's way back to how I like it. I did get paid enough to cover replacing everything, but I spent it on buying new kit to wear as the only clothing that escaped the attention of the ambulance crew was my boots. Once the clothing part of the claim is sorted I can buy new pipes and the last few bits I want and I will be back to where I was before the whole disaster happened. I will be a very happy bunny.
So, although there was no Christmas Dinner, we had a lovely evening out, with good friends (thank you, Mr and Mrs Read!) and lots of proper, festive food to choose from. I had a much nicer day then I expected but I have decided I've done my bit and I will never work on Christmas day again. :)
